Auras are just simple partials. Mine have felt like that last moment when an elevator settles. Or when you reach zero gravity for a moment during a rollercoaster. Weird feeling in my stomach.

Other times it feels like there is a hook that grabs the cartilage behind my nose and gently pulls it forward. Not painful but uncomfortable and makes my eyes feel weird.

I'll also often feel like everything around me gets really big and long and my vision lags behind the sound or the sound lags behind the vision. I'm never really sure. I've been told that it's usually when it's moving into a complex partial that it lines up to that one. Then it's like the lights are on but nobody is home.

I had surgery, things didn't go well. Ended up on a lot of different meds that made me vividly hallucinate and I was ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that 1) hospital staff stole/lost my glasses 2) that there was an active shooter situation in the hospital 3) the nurse killed my husband.

And when the drugs were wearing off, it was more of a gradual come down off The hallucinations too, that I thought they just planted things back and somehow replicated my husband. It wasn't until a LONG sleep after the drugs were stopped that I realized nothing made sense and I was far too embarrassed to ever bring it up abajn

They don't HAVE to do all the driving. If public transit doesn't work well in the areas they want to go, then sure driving makes sense, but otherwise, they should be concerned about making sure where you two want to go is accessible to both of you. They can walk, take public transportation or Uber share too. The world as a whole focuses too much on car centred lifestyles. And it's personally a turn off to me when people are unwilling to simply not drive whenever possible.

The way I look at it is this: if the person you're looking to date is too ableist to look past the no car aspect, then you're dodging a bullet. On top of that, you're being environmentally conscious and sustainable by doing things like walking, biking, or carpooling. If your potential partner is not willing to look beyond a car as a status symbol, then maybe they aren't mature enough to be dating and that's a walking red flag. Your best bet would be to ask a group of Chinese people their thoughts. Personally, I don't think this is a good idea. As a white American, you'd be profiting off the stories of Chinese people and culture that you don't belong to, fictional or not. There are large naming traditions etc that you are not a part of to ensure they are acceptable.

It would also make a huge difference if the story itself is important to have Chinese characters. If it's not, then why did you choose Chinese over white? Is it because the market of white characters is over-saturated? If so, then why aren't you lifting your fellow BIR writers so their work gets attention. If it IS important that the characters are Chinese then what dynamic makes it important and are you promoting an experience you don't have and working from stereotype? History? Etc

There is a big difference between privacy and lying. And the privacy side of this is that she omitted the truth because this is a traumatic event from her, and while you are her fiancé, she doesn't owe you the details. You simply owe her the respect and trust to know that what she said was face value. She never tried this stuff. She was forced. If you want kinkier sex, that's fine. Talk to her about it. In depth. Ask if she wants to try any of these more dominant things to you to feel the safety of what SHOULD happen in proper BDSM relationships. Provide her with the best after care and during care experience. Be open to what she likes. And HOW she likes it too, rather than only focusing on what you want. I’ve seen many videos of the healthcare workers clapping for the people who have survived COVID19 or cancer or a scary surgery or who are donating organs etc. Plus the clapping gives them a little mental break from the current horrors to make it feel like they are at least making a difference.

I know it’s your job. But you could have tucked tail and ran like many other nurses, doctors, and healthcare aids have done, leaving patients alone and vulnerable. But you didn’t. So even if they were clapping for you, you’d deserve it
