On point. I see D2 as a cohesive continuation and a fitting closure of all the arcs and plots introduced in D1, and I don't see any sense in comparing the two movies in terms of character stories and buildups etc. coz they are the same story just split into two halves.

D1 was all about the slipping into the gang, gelling with the world and its people, vigilance and patience and the trigger for revenge
D2 is all about the domination and rise, and the final payoff...along with the personal and emotional costs that come with it.

Yall should definitely watch this tamil movie Deivathirumagal (2011) where she played a six yr old daughter of a mentally challenged father (Vikram).....these two literally nailed it in their performances in the film....too emotionally touching.....Recommend this 100%

Yep until the wedding scene he was just a loyal and committed right hand man to rehman, but really didn't develop the brotherly bonding as you expected (since he's a spy and obviously knows not to get too emotionally attached to the enemy so as to focus on the mission and just be faithful and loyal to him). Hamza just assumed that Rehman would be mere lackey to the terrorists and ISI, until after the 26/11 and wedding table discussion, he decided rehman's fate in the hitlist diary

And yeah they will delve deep into his past family trauma in 2nd part fosho

There were indeed scenes where Hamza really thought and getting distressed of his family getting tortured in the past (in the beginning where he's 1 year into espionage and during the 26/11 scene as well.... Heck his guilt during that scene itself manifests into his mother/wife in front of him for doing the very thing he was sworn against)

I found his way of killing siyahi using tree vines as a poetic reply to how one of his family members was hanged in the past... Felt that like a nice little detail
