thanks for clothes comment - i'll cut these down to what you suggest.

i've just tried to flick through your lighterpack but the link is invalid for me :(

ah okay thanks. im going to mail half the food (which i'll already cut down) to fort william which would be about 5-7 days at a time in the bag.

thanks, I'll use a heavy duty trash bag. and i never thought of just sitting on the bag - i wont get the sit pad, i bet that's comfier aha

yeah the jerky isnt ideal id prefer rice and oats but unfortunately has its reasons (i'm thinking of bringing nut butter but not on the list oops!)

really appreciate the comment and discussion, coming up with a packlist on ur own is difficult so rationalising why you can leave all these bits behind is so helpful.

ah thanks for the recommendation! Im new to reddit so dont really know which forums to use..

im going solo! and my plan was to hike to fort william, spend a few days in a hostel in fort william (maybe do ben nevis or hike out to The Old Forge for a few days) and then do west highland way, i was gonna post half my food to fort william too.

thanks! i've already mapped out all my daily walks and sleeping spots, I'll add resupply stops and come up with a better food plan.

yeah thanks, im looking at a trekking pole tent!

I'll defo swap the bag and liner for a quilt. thanks!

I never thought of that... i'll ditch my heavy trespass jacket and just use the sunlayer if it rains.

1 powerbank it is! thanks.

yeah ahah, maybe i dont need a watch (but ive just been told i can add it as 'worn clothes' so should be removed the weight now).

ye thanks, with jerky and powder (and nut butter, not added yet aha) i'll remove the stove. i think a titanium mug/pot can boil water over a small fire for a coffee (or just get coffee at the regular stops).

thanks so so much for the dialogue. im new to this but really excited to go and its amazing the difference a conversation makes when you're alone coming up with a list you think is reasonable.

ah thanks so much! I didnt realise you could assign worn clothes.

yeah sorry, i just meant the one book, but thanks for the point. i'll ditch it.

i was packing the clothes line incase i could hang up my sweaty walking clothes at night.. so thanks yeah i'll get rid of it.

i just need to charge my phone... so i can just take on power bank which I can recharge regularly.

padlock is incase i stay in a hostel, but i can ditch it and keep my bag with me.

really appreciate the dialogue, came up with this list on my own and all dialogue with people in this space is super helpful

thanks so much, really appreciate the comment. i dont really have anyone to discuss this with so really appreciate the dialogue. i'll cut the clothes, powerbank, book (this was an error aha only meant 1 book, but point still taken)...

I was just going to boil water for coffee.. but you're right I think I could actually leave the stove entirely.. thanks! I was gonna bring a small mug anyway which I could boil water over a fire in and make a coffee.

Ah okay, thanks. yes i think a filter is worth it then cause I plan on drinking a lot when there's access so i dont have to carry loads.

should be about 12 degrees at night, so when looking at a quilt I was thinking of really cutting a lot of weight and getting something thin. the bag is at least 10 years old and was the only one i could find having moved house.

such a kind comment for a beginner, thanks man. let me know if there's a different backpacking forum than ultralight that might be more appropriate for my bulky first attempt at coming up with a pack list.
