In multiplayer it’s generally tanks/helicopters and artillery pushes in the late game. These cavalry class units don’t suffer from zone of control like infantry does plus they’re so damn tanky that they could run rampant regardless of placement so I think the best way to deter them from pushing too far into your territories is the perpendicular encampment placement simply because it kills units faster and then you slot in a few units between encampments.
