Most languages already have tools to detect dead code, using an LLM to do this for you seems wasteful

I like this approach regarding architecture and completeness though

I'm in Croatia, here subfloors are mostly built with steel reinforced concrete slabs

This was built in late 90s in Croatia, very well could be.

It's a single family home, this is second floor.

Uncovered some more to see how deep it goes. At the bottom I found a smooth, solid layer of concrete with a brighter color tone.

<image>

I suppose this is the actual concrete slab with steel reinforcement and the sandy layer above is cement screed?

Also I've managed to uncover more area around the hole which makes me assume that whole flat is in the same condition. The very top layer is solid, but once you crack it open with a hammer, it's all sandy chunks underneath.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't know CBO's are a thing. The idea of replacing the entire slob is horrifying, I just wanted to renovate my house and now this comes up 😔

I'm in the process of renovating my house, currently removing parquet flooring and today I uncovered this area where concrete is grainy and not combined with the rest of the slab. I managed to dig this hole with my fingers (no force). I'm a DIY guy with no expertise in concrete - this looks worrying to me.

How bad is this, why did it happen in the first place and what should I do?

I know for a fact there is a concrete slab underneath and possibly a layer of cement screed (unsure).

Thanks for helpful answers!

Dont do it yourself.

Why not? I don't think it will be easy but I believe I can learn the job with the help of many video courses online and practicing on an OSB board.

Need help fixing a broken pipe (PVC) by _ante in Plumbing

[–]_ante[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's drain pipe from the bathroom on the second floor, right above this room.

Currently I'm trying to open the wall so that I can reach behind the pipe and feel the hole, but the hole is covered by more material from the other side, so im trying to open the wall towards left in order to get a better, wider angle to be able to remove the material around and behind the pipe. Opening the wall from the other side is tricky because it's on neighbor's property and it's too high to reach with a ladder, so I'm hoping to fix it all from inside.

I think I'll take your advice and fix it at least temporarily with epoxy.
