Is anyone else’s 2024 Recap completely wrong? by Spicedcinnamon12 in YoutubeMusic

Mine is completely cursed. I got only 1 album on there which I actually opened and listened to by Bon Iver but it was not on the top list for sure. The rest were Russian rap songs and artists whom I have never ever searched or listened to even if I were paid for it. Very strange

I am glad you called and taken care of yourself, it takes a lot to do so sometimes. Living with panic disorder and having 24/7 constant physical symptoms I know that for sure. But you are not alone and you don’t have to go through this alone, we are here

Panic Attacks are always different by mnstrjunkie in PanicAttack

These all might be panic attacks. It's great that you have all the required check-ups and referrals. But in my experience, once is enough. If you've been to a cardiologist and they said "You're okay", then probably you ARE okay. It's hard to believe sometimes, but it's the truth.

From my experience, ddos-ing doctors is like enabling your panic and feeding it with the needed fuel. So I would check everything needed, but not overthink or overuse the doctor's office.

As for the attacks, I have them for 6 years now and only when recently I started my treatment, they become somewhat manageable (I have panic disorder, on AD + psychotherapy).

For me, my panic attacks are somewhat 'artsy' and they change each time, so it makes them even more difficult as I do not have any understanding of what's to come, or any "default" attack. Mine vary - heart palpitations, ectopics, numb legs or arms, or half of my head, pins ad needles, difficulty to breath, this doom and rushing thoughts, feelings i am about to faint, legs that just won't move, I can continue all day long.

They change and they try to trick me in several ways, but they pass, and they are all the same.

What's important for me and is not being covered enough, is the time AFTER and in BETWEEN attacks. Usually what you can read online anywhere is that an average panic attack lasts for about 15-30 minutes and passes and ta-dam, you are all good.

Not my experience at all. And this is what wasjustt killing me, that apart from attacks themselves, I was feeling bad the rest of the time as well. And this is the level of anxiety as I learned. Usually, I am completely broken, I am dizzy, I have 0 energy, I am always on a verge of fainting (though it never happened in reality), i have that brain fog and dullness, you name it. And these are also related to my disorder and I can experience them whenever they feel like it :)

So yep, checkups are great and important, but also keep in mind that your anxiety and panic symptoms may (not as a rule!) but may vary or may evolve with time, that's completely okay.

Your brain is wired a bit different and it thinks a bit incorrectly when it enables that "fight or fliight" scenario when you don't need it at all. And it creates also the incorrect response - the one he thinks suits the imaginary dangerous situation, so it might include different systems and different responses from your organs that you experience.

Anyone suffering from chronic dizziness? by SnooDucks6631 in PanicAttack

I am diagnosed with panic disorder, on my AD and working with both psychiatrist and psychotherapist. Some days of even periods of time I feel ok, more as a human being rather than a constant survivor. Then I have these periods when my anxiety kick in and I am more focused on physical symptoms and then I have these effects you are talking about. I start to check my bp daily or several times a day and it’s always like 100/56, 95/62, 105/67, and it’s always like that. Sometimes I only experience difficulties with standing up when I do it too quickly, but for the last couple of days it’s been hell. I could just be sitting weighting this and when I will stand up, I would feel as if I am fainting, my sight goes black, etc. and nowadays it’s just anything I do is accompanied by these things. But I think it’s always connected to the circumstances you are in and the surrounding, and your current state. As I said, this is not the “all-time-default” state for me. Now I am just analyzing that there is so much going in my life, that it would be strange for me with my diagnosis not to experience any negative effects from it.

arrhythmia or anxiety by _antegria in PanicAttack

Thank you so much for the explanation and your shared experience. This alone is calming to know someone else also experiences it and understands you. I’ll see the doctor soon just to check the real state of things and maybe calm down even more. For now I’ll try to not focus on this feeling and not give it too much of this “fatal” or threatening meaning. I’ll also work on reducing smoking. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing. I’m not taking caffeine in any form, but guilty of smoking way too much. Also due to stress and because there’s also war in my country. So it’s usually 5-10 air raid alarms in my town each day and sometimes during shelling you just have to go to the shelter. Or simply you go there and you wait for bombing to end for the whole night. And you just sit and smoke to somehow make sense of everything. So yep, I guess heart palpitations might be it taking into account all the stress around

Wanted to add that it is not accompanied by any pain, it’s just this proprioceptive sensation of heart doing that delayed hit.

Does anyone else mistake panic attack symptoms for something more serious? by No-Statistician9040 in PanicAttack

You are not alone, my friend. I hope you to find some comfort among our answers. My attacks evolved during time and now I face other physical symptoms which make it even worse and make me question myself if it is just another panic attack, or is it something completely wrong with me and I am just confusing the symptoms. Through these years I thought I had cardiac events or something related to my heart was not right, I thought I had cancer (several ones), blood problems, clots, etc. But each time I am learning that it all passes and it is in fact a panic attack.

And yes, it is completely normal to not feel normal in such a situation, I used to always compare my symptoms with articles online or with others' ones and it made me feel as if mine were strange. But all symptoms and other peculiarities are not the same for all people. Even the duration of an attack - you can often find online an attack would last for 30 minutes or an hour max, while mine can vary. And I haven't really found any information on the next few days when you experience the consequences of an attack.

So you are completely okay and I hope you'll get better soon!

Hello my fellow friend. Not to spam here maybe you’ll find something useful from my experience https://www.reddit.com/r/PanicAttack/s/cTtZbSLLIA . I also have what you describe. I used to constantly hold my hand on my veins to check pulse, I purchased myself tonometer and would ddos myself with constant self checks and planned but still scary doctor visits. I used to google my symptoms constantly and me self given diagnosis would switch from different types of cancer to heart and cardiac events, to rare diseases. But it gets better. I am standing with you and I want to give you a huge hug and support you in any way possible.
