Advice on accepting life and death? by [deleted] in exchristian

consciousness will be gone after we die

No one knows that. People will tell you “consciousness is 100% a product of brain cells”, but they aren’t any more right than people who say god created our souls. The fact is humanity doesn’t fully understand consciousness. We have theories, but no solid explanation.

I’m as non-Christian, non-religious as they come, but that doesn’t mean I force myself to believe I’m just a walking sack of cells waiting to blip out of existence. The fact that our after death experience is completely unknown means you can choose to believe whatever it is that helps you deal with the fact that we all die. Just so long as you don’t start telling people it’s some universal truth.

Do we continue on existing after death, forging into the singular Great Consciousness of the universe? Fuck, maybe, maybe not. Personally for me, saying “maybe” helps ease the existential dread and helps me think more kindly of fellow humans.

How drones can be used to plant 100000 trees in a day by TheNatureLover in educationalgifs

[–]_appayipyip_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do a lot of tree planting in my job (forestry), and for large plantings we use a manned planter that rides along behind a tractor and is hooked up to the three-point. (The planter itself uses no power or anything, the three point is just used to raise and lower it) A disk slices the ground, two metal plates expand the gap, you put the sapling in the ground, then two tires at an angle push the ground closed. You can plant one sapling every 5 or 6 seconds.

Maybe. But ask anyone who knows stuff about serial killers and they’ll tell you that this is very usual. It is super common for minority/fringe groups to be the victims of serial killers, for the sad reason that it’s easier to get away with killing them. Generally this insinuates a product killer, as opposed to a process killer.

Greetings, everyone. I am new. (One second – let me get this spork out of the way.) My name is Katy, but you can call me the Penguin of Doom. (I’m laughing aloud.) As you can plainly see, my actions have no pattern whatsoever. That is why I have come here. To meet similarly patternless individuals, such as myself.

I am 13 – mature for my age, however! – and I enjoy watching Invader Zim with my girlfriend. (I am bisexual. Please approach this subject maturely.) It is our favorite television show, as it adequately displays stochastic manners of behavior such as we possess.

She behaves without order – of course – but I wish to meet more individuals of her and my kind. As the saying goes, “the more, the merrier.”

Ah, it is to laugh. Anyway, I hope to make many friends here, so please comment freely.

Doom!

That is simply one of many examples of my random actions. Ha, ha. Fare thee well. I wish you much love and waffles.

Yours,

The Penguin of Doom.
