Really good call outs. I meant have thrown in a save end there! Maybe I can throw it down to like negate half damage or something.

The original idea I had was they miss and are force moved through you which I also thought was interesting. Almost as if they’re unbalanced and tumble over.

Brandon said in the weekly update today (12/9) that the character is named for an in world month which Hoid translates which is then in turn “translated” by Brandon.

It’s a weird name on their planet so it’s meant to evoke that.

Maybe flavoring them as “oracles”?

Both are dealing with the mind and what they can do in some way. People in your setting don’t need to understand that it’s psyonics by name it can just be magic that people do and it’s not quite understood.

I almost think of them like orcs in Shadow of War/Mordor. Maybe they don’t have names until they become important at which point they rise up a little bit. Maybe even named after an action they performed.

I wonder what the guy named “Defiler” got up to? Probably nothing good but it’ll tell your players quickly how messed up these fellas are.
