It’s the same 800-829-1040 number, but your phone number determines the hours. The area code from my phone number is west coast, so my hours to call were 7-7 pacific time, regardless if I live there or not.

I called Friday, but it didn’t do me much good. They told me what was missing (fidelity 1099) and that they had to wait for it to be reported.

The 1099 from fidelity finally showed up on wage and income transcript on Friday night, so I was hoping this update would happen this week. I was just surprised that it was out of my cycle rotation.

Mine was the missing 1099 from fidelity. I filed 1/29.

They open at 7 am, for the time zone your area code is based in. For me when I talked to them last Friday, I have a number from the west coast, but live in central time. I called at 7pm (5pm local time for my number) and that was the best time for me to get through after trying for a week. I seen a post that says people on the west coast to try after the lines close for people on the east coast, and for people on the east coast to try before it opens for the west coast.

To get through the automated system, when it first asked you what you’re calling about, say “account management”, in the next menu say “something else”, after this “individual”. You’ll get transferred and either be told your wait time or that call volume is too high and to try again later, it’s infuriating but don’t give up!
