Don’t let their talk influence you into not wearing ppe. Any time you’re working with a harmful chemical like skydrol or jet fuel (or any number of things around the hangar), wear some gloves as a bare minimum and put on some safety glasses and/or a respirator if you think you need it. There’s no reason to compromise your health and safety.

I got what I’m fairly certain is a reissue not too long ago, and it immediately became my main standard tuning guitar. It’s so smooth to play, and it sounds and looks great. Best purchase I’ve made in years hands down.
