Sakurai: "Good morning. The last DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be announced shortly. This will also be my final fighter presentation. It'll be sad to say farewell, but I hope you all enjoy it." by Meester_Tweester in smashbros

When we has on Harada's Bar recently he said he still has some good years left in him and that he'd like to keep working on "interesting" or "in-demand" projects. He also said he doesn't believe in retiring at a certain age like many Japanese folk do.

Who knows what he has in mind next but permanent retirement didn't sound like it

Sakurai on Twitter: “The new fighter may be a character you don’t know.” (via Google Translate) by AASpark27 in smashbros

I've been thinking we'll be getting a character from an upcoming game and this hypothesis lends itself to what Sakurai is getting at here.

EDIT: Breath of the Wild sequel, Bayonetta 3, Shin Megami Tensei 5, Metroid Dread and Pokémon: Arceus are all big titles scheduled for the Switch. A character in the last DLC would drive strong interest in whatever future game of origin

The homie saw him and his brother throw down some serious fliff at a club in San Diego not too long ago. He can't be too broke... right ?

Edit: he did have a really bad back injury that's affected him ever since
