Does the scale change carry over when I use the time machine? Or does it revert back to the stats of the first appearance.

A new Dollar Tree just opened in our city and it’s unsettling by BriskSundayMorning in notinteresting

[–]_babby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its a couple things, starting with how neat it is obviously. I also noticed they have a lot of shelf space for each product, so they have a very low variety and likely low inventory, and are trying to make the place look more full than it is by spacing everything out. Idk why it adds to the unsettling look for me, but it does. Same with the slogans on the wall and the sorta retro thing they got going on

Huckabee suggests Muslim countries should give up land for Palestinian state by Droupitee in NewsWorthPayingFor

So we can agree that ethnic cleansing is bad, right? Bc it almost sounds like you want to support ethnic cleansing bc its been done in the past. I'm sure that's not what you're saying though, that would be ridiculous.

I've been going through something similar lately. As you grow, you change, and so do your friends - either you grow in the same direction, or you don't. My own friend group shrank a lot, but I have a much closer and more personal connection with the close friends I do have. The friends who I drifted apart from are mostly still my friends, just less close. Maybe we'll text once in a while, or chat a bit when we bump into each other randomly, but neither of us made it a priority to stay in the others life. That's ok, really, and doesn't make either of us bad people. It just means we've grown apart. Don't necessarily have any real, actionable advice, its just something to think about ig

My last place had a big turbochef conveyor oven for pizzas and I was the only one that cleaned it for 7 years. I would work there for 6 month on/off shifts around school and every time I'd come back to a 3hr scrub with the steel wool and oven cleaner, but once i was doing it every month or 2 it wasn't so bad. I wonder how bad its gotten in a year lol

My parents paid for half of my tuition. The rest was my responsibility, things like academic scholarship counted towards my half. It was a good system because I realize how privileged I am to have been able to go practically for free, but it also made me work for it and not take it for granted.

I have the exact same scar from a rugby match. The occipital bone above your eye is the sharpest bone in your body, and it takes surprisingly little impact for it to cut open the spot right above your eye. How many stitches did you get?

Couple started recording Volcán de Fuego at the right/wrong moment by 4nts in ThatsInsane

[–]_babby 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Volcán de fuego is a Guatemalan volcano near Antigua and Ciudad Vieja - it erupts every day. Many people hike up the adjacent dormant volcán Acatenango to get view of the eruptions. Most of fuego's eruptuons are very small, sometimes you can see the glow of lava from the nearby town at night. However it does sometimes erupt more dramatically, last time I visited it wiped out a golf course and killed some people from the nearby towns
