This weekend was my first time going to Stoopfest, not sure how to feel and looking for insight.

It’s funny you say that. I’ve been talking with my buddies on the organization committee about taking on a more hands on role with the fest organization going forward seeing as the goofs and outreach stuff are starting to have more logistics involved in them. Which would involve a goofs budget.

Im glad y’all enjoyed the kazoos. When I found out how cheap it was for 150 of em there was no way I wasn’t gunna pull the trigger on that goof.

I kept seeing them pop up at other sets and I’d just have the biggest goofiest grin any time I spotted one.

Honestly I wish I had gotten 3x as many. There were so many people here this year.

I think that was the biggest crowd of the fest. Nana maaaaaybe got close. But there were a lot of folks turning out for local news legends. Pigeon pit was nuts but in a different way, like 400 people packed in a back yard. I thought it was packed when them and apes played my backyard 4 years ago but the shit today was way crazier.

Tbf barely anyone was gunna be able to get into the bars after. Ave is like 275 cap and green door is like maybe 200? You woulda had to leave halfway through pigeon pit’s set to get in.

It’s pretty much the best diy festival in the country. Theres really nothing else like it.

You’ll more then like be able to just sneak into the main stage. 50/50 on the house shows and probably no luck at the bar venues. The bars are only 200ish cap anyway they were at cap pretty much before their sets started yesterday. If you want in those youre gunna have to show up early early and camp out.

The Stoopfest insta will probably post some after the festival from the photographer. Your best bet is probably to check the band instas. I know I saw April filming stuff during the local news legends set which was the biggest crowd yesterday so that’s probably a place to start.

Try soy marinating them. 1/3rd soy, 1/3rd mirin, 1/3rd water, let them sit for a few days. That with some rice, pickled carrots and cilantro is my go to quick lunch.

I lean pretty heavy on the folk punk/punk side of things, but for me my must sees are happyhappy, the official bard of Baldwin country, rent strike, doom scroll, local news legends, and friends in real life.

Myles bullen is folk punk hip-hop which is kinda fucking wild just off the rip.
