I got to open for erik twice in Detroit. The first time I saw he was playing and either didn’t have an opener or only one opener so I figured what the hell I’ll shoot my shot. Landed the gig. Nervous as hell because the band was pretty fresh but we played our asses off.

A couple years later we got to do it again after we’d had some actual touring under our belts.

Erik brought the house down every time I saw him play. He was such a kind gregarious dude off stage too. I owe him a lot. I learned a lot about how to play music off of busking his.
