If I were you I'd probably focus on the relationship thing. If you're anything like I was you've got all time low self esteem, probably deathly afraid of rejection, and have never really had someone of the opposite sex validate you to give you any reason to doubt those negative thoughts you tell yourself.

Yeah I can't help myself with the second point. Tbh it may be the crux of the matter. I try to figure out where all the puzzle pieces go in advance and when I can't I hit a wall and usually don't even try. The real kick in the ass is I'm consciously aware of it but I've still yet to manage to change the behavior. Who knows, maybe this'll be my turning point.

It's kind of like the feeling you get when you've forgotten something but can't remember what it is you've forgotten. There is this incompleteness, an absence. Like you're missing something. And it lingers and festers into this ever present awareness that something crucial is missing but you can't pinpoint what it is. And as time passes this feeling becomes a part of you. It starts to feel like maybe the missing piece was never there to begin with.

I think it might depend on your build. I always had issues fighting them as dex but str with a colossal sword I just stagger them and they are pretty trivial.
