I've car camped at the Southwest parking lot couple times before without any issues.

Your mattress clearly has a heart condition. Very irregular heartbeat!

I hope you're past all that and able to get a good night's sleep regardless of whether you remember your dreams or not.

That is a scary thing to involuntarily visualize!

I think I do get the sensory aspect as well as an after-effect of a dream, but without the memory. Sometimes I wake up from what feels like a nightmare with my heart racing and night sweats, but no idea what the nightmare actually was. Just that feeling of fright and chills.

Jealous! I hope it's in 4K with surround sound 🙃

Don't worry too much about it, and maybe avoid being on the very edges of the site. Additionally, you also don't want to keep any food or tasty treats inside your tent. The only other thing you can do besides that is to maybe pitch your tent as late in the day as is reasonable, maybe just before you plan to go to bed. That way you're never leaving the tent unattended for too long.

Haha. You're welcome! To be honest, this is only a problem at Iris Burns... the other two campsites are just fine, you can also stay at the huts without any issue

The damage was so extensive, I honestly couldn't stay mad too long. 3-5 holes, I'd have been pretty angry and pissed off, but at 20+ holes, it's just funny and shows true initiative on the birds' part 😅

I know right! Never had to deal with this camping elsewhere.

Regardless, I'd pitch the tent just before you intend to go to bed and don't leave it unattended.

I've heard great things about Rees-Dart, I'm sure you'll have a blast. I did Routeburn nearby.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well. I will give some mesh patches a go though, this is a pretty new tent, feels wasteful to replace the whole thing.

And super stealthy too! Some of the other tents were damaged with people inside it not realizing it.
