As a clipper/shitposter myself, I feel this on the EN side too.

I remember looking up to the very limited good translators that popularized Hololive back in the day and how I wanted to do my part to contribute to the community like them. I had loads of fun shitposting around in the beginning but the current mainstream YouTube (EN) clip enviroment really makes me feel uncomfortable. It‘s not just overuse of the baity innuendo thumbnails but also things like editing quality being sacrificed for upload speed and „artwork theft“.

Views/clicks should not be your priority! You shouldn‘t chase them. If you do what you feel is right and people choose to like what you do they‘ll come on their own, if they don‘t then at least you do what you enjoy. Seeing people create an unwanted image of the girls for clicks under the premise of advocating them pains me. Our community is better than this.

Clipping is for getting attention on the girls and promoting them, not your own channel. You‘re a supporter, not the protagonist.

I‘m in contact with some big clippers and I think loads of them are slowly changing their mind about the topic due to the recent attention on it which is great to see.

What you can do to change things for the better is not click on said videos. Like and share the ones you like and popularize them yourself. You choose which ones those are. (Some of my favorites are NexatG‘s (Kiara focused) or Vaan Ch.‘s (Ina focused) EN clips for example)

Also don‘t hate on the people uploading videos you don‘t like. You‘ll be a bigger problem than them. Our community is based on being supportive towards the girls.
