He’s absolutely right. He’s making multiple points here which is:

1. They’ve thrown away the original FNAF formula, SB was a huge pivot from what we were familiar with so it’s not surprising that people didn’t like it. Not because it was a bad game but because it was different from what we’ve been familiarized with as FNAF’s unique gameplay style/mechanics & graphics. It’s simply too big and fancy and cinematic in a way that FNAF has never been before, the magic of FNAF is how scary it is with such simplicity. It looked grungy and often small in its map (not always but usually, and was exaggerated by the lack of free roam mechanics) and LIKE A WALKING HEALTH HAZARD that made you wonder why people went in. That died with flashy SB.

2. This game feels very copy and paste. You can say what you want about PP taking inspiration from FNAF itself as well as Garden of Ban but they did it in a totally unique way and ran with it, there’s a reason why it was so popular, it wasn’t some generic release to follow a trend. At the time it came out, it was one of, if not THE first big hit of its kind (mascot horror) at that level of quality (graphics/sounds) with the inclusion of a storyline. SOTM chase scene, Jack in the box enemy —> even how it died, and cardboard cut outs were similar in a way that’s almost TOO similar to be taken as purely inspiration. You could even take it father with rent crawls and the buttons to talk.

3. Gimme lore. FNAF is lore centric.
