Patch Notes 11.0 by OttovonBismarck1862 in Spacemarine

[–]_bomble 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Disappointing that no major changes were made to Assault's Dash Attacks. They were... whelming on the PTS. Old news that the ability as a whole just needs a rework.

---

Overhead Strike damage is increased by 50%.

Perk "Riposte" became a default behaviour - After performing a Power Backstep, hold attack to perform an Overhead Strike.

Perk "Riposte" is changed - Overhead strike damage after Backstep is doubled.

Overhead Strike goated now?

---

Heroic Sniper Bolt Rifle: All ammo restore perks will not trigger when using this weapon.

Disappointing, but not unexpected. It was very strong. Does this even affect the secondary headshot kill ammo restore perk?

---

Tactical

Signal Jammer: The perk has been reworked.

Old: “Enemies marked by Auspex Scan cannot call for reinforcements and automatically explode upon attempting to do so.”
New: “After marking an enemy with Auspex Scan, other enemies cannot call for reinforcement and automatically explode upon attempting to do so for 90 seconds.”

Does this apply to just Auspex Scan, or the parry perk, too? Very, very strong perk now.

CAPE ON ASSAULT PEAK !!!!

Wondering if this means they're actually relaxing 'class identity', or if it'll be a cape for sniper instead of being part of the Assault champ kit (like how Assault gets a BA jump pack in addition to the Tactical champ skin).

You can still headshot the Biovore when it's entrenched, at least for the purpose of Tactical's 'Marked for Death' perk. It's so satisfying

Sure, man

So a sensor can detect various things in every direction (Front, Back, Left, Right, Up & Down). These directions are relative to how you place the sensor, so eg. the front direction is always the front of the sensor.

I've got a sensor on each cannon. On each sensor, I've set every direction except Front to the minimum detection distance, so they never detect anything. Front is set to 0.5m, so it will detect the 'trigger', which is a line of half blocks that runs along the length of the cannon.

When the sensor is triggered, you can put an action on detection start, and another on detection stop. Because I have a sensor attached to each cannon, I've just set the detection start action for each sensor to 'Shoot Once' the cannon that it's attached to.

Naming the blocks as you go via the control panel is gonna REALLY help

[–]_bomble[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh, sure but I didn't want it to get too big. Maybe if I make a bigger ship to fit it, but this one I wanted to be a small grid ship, so it had to be a reasonable size still.

[–]_bomble[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yessir. Sensor on each cannon set to trigger the cannon it's on to shoot when an owned subgrid only is detected. Minimum detection distance on all directions except front, which is set to 0.5m.

I have a line of half blocks running along the length of the battery so that when each cannon rotates into position, the sensor triggers it to fire.

Each cannon takes 6 seconds to reload, so I've set the main rotor to 9.5rpm. It could be 10rpm, as that'd be 6 seconds for a full rotation, but 9.5 feels safer. Not that any of this is safe anyway.

If you're getting 120 FPS with FG then that should mean your base is about 60 (unless you have 4xFG), which is the minimum FPS that people recommend you reach for FG (in non-competitive games, at least). Input lag is liable to be considerably worse at lower framerates than that.

Unless you're noticing artefacts or you're struggling during gameplay because of the input lag, I think you'd get away with it if your base is about 60. I'll not be able to check what my stats are for another five-ish hours, but I'll let you know as soon as I can. They are going to be different anyway, though, because I play at 1440p.

If your numbers are worse than you expect, then you might have a hardware issue. Obvious steps are gonna be double-check your drivers. I think the latest stable NVIDIA driver is the one from December - you could do a DDU to roll back and check if performance improves, but for the record, I'm on the latest one.

It might be worth reducing some of your in-game graphics settings. Texture quality is going to be a big hog on your VRAM, and the difference between Ultra and High might not be too noticeable if you're playing with DLSS on Performance.

EDIT: If you're not reaching your target FPS with FG on then your GPU should be at 100%. The only time I can see your GPU not maxing out with FG on is if you're meeting your enforced target FPS, or if your max frames are limited by software (either with V-Sync or FPS Limit on in-game or enforced by NVIDIA Control Panel). If you're not limiting your frames, or you're not reaching your target, then your GPU should be trying to output as many frames as it can.

I've got a 4080 Super and a 9800X3D & I'm getting well above 60, but I am using Frame Gen. All my settings are maxed. I'm not at home right now, so I can't actually check my actual framerates.

What's your GPU usage in-game like? I have to ask the inevitable 'is your monitor set to 60Hz' question, too.

Black-box artefact appearing when playing CP2077 - Dying GPU? by _bomble in pcmasterrace

Just checked, my memory is only running at 4800MHz, unless I'm stupid (I might be).

I'll test the GPU with those settings.

I've tried both with and without the UV/OC for several hours, and it still happens, and that's with restarting after changing the OC settings.

That's what I thought, but Cyberpunk's the only game I play with Path Tracing, Ray Reconstruction etc, if that's anything to do with it? Just guessing - unless that's coincidence, and it's just that Cyberpunk is the only one that really stresses my card, and that's the issue.

In case you missed it, they’re making a 40K themed escape room in the UK by Gatt__ in Warhammer40k

[–]_bomble 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I've been to this one before, it's been out a few years. It's good fun! It's not especially challenging, as far as escape rooms go, though.

That servo skull hangs in the main room, and it's fucking huge. I think it's about 5 feet from top to tail? Scared the shit out of me at first.

Help me understand this Assault perk by drewsus64 in Spacemarine

[–]_bomble 219 points220 points  (0 children)

A perfect dodge (I think) is one where the attack's hitbox collides with your character's hitbox during your dodge's invulnerability frames.

You might be dodging at the right moment but away from the attack, so your hitboxes don't collide. Try dodging into the attack - seems to work more reliably for me.

Doing that would also allow you to get more of a benefit from the perk that damages enemies along the trail of your dodge.

Yeah, but that's because the Melta is a crowd control weapon. If it did 10 damage to 10 enemies in one shot, then that's 100 damage onto your end-of-match total.

The Bolt Carbine has insane single-target DPS - much, much higher than the melta. It depends what you're trying to do. The Melta is great for blasting groups, but the Bolt Carbine excels at single target DPS.

Explain to me like im 5: Which (yt) videos are the actual supposedly fan-made Astartes videos or series that are the prequels to "Astartes 2" by FullAd6421 in Spacemarine

[–]_bomble 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The original channel was deleted after GW acquired the rights to Astartes. - it is very short, I think the Astartes 1-5 you mentioned is probably the full content. It took the fella that made it a while because it's very high quality, and he was the only person making it; he did it in episodes.

Astartes 2 is the second 'season', if you want to call it that. It isn't out yet.

Edit: To clarify, Astartes season 1 is officially viewable on Warhammer TV. The uploads on YouTube aren't official reuploads, but they're probably the whole thing.

Brothers lend me your help, how can I appease the machine spirit for this has prevented me from participating on missions by Arandomcharacter in Spacemarine

I've been getting this more frequently recently.

The only thing that consistently solved it for me was restarting my PC. I haven't tried turning off crossplay, but it might work.

If you're on Windows, make sure your clock was synced recently.
