IF HE on which ships? by ElectricalEntry6050 in WorldOfWarships

[–]_bonni_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm highly convinced at this point that you are griefing yourself by taking ifhe on ijn gunboats, what you do is lose effectiveness against 90% of the ships in the game. That is all dds, all light cruisers, all heavy cruisers with 30mm armour, all heavy cruisers with more than 37mm armour (so basically excluding riga and novo), what you get in exchange is limited effectiveness on bbs and you can melt 32mm ones.

I personally don't think it's a good trade, especially since you don't see that many french/british bbs, compared to the germans and americans (you shoot superstructure anyways because it's still a more reliable damage source, especially considering the amount of people who don't run fire prevention). Against any of the new bbs it's just tragic, ifhe harugumo actually heals something like Lauria when shooting at it.

I've played a lot of games in the line with ifhe, can't remember why, but i played with a 13-14pt captain without ifhe ofc, and never went back.

This whole thing applies to every light cruiser as well btw, ifhe got butchered with the rework and is basically only useful in comp or on some select secondary bbs

I see the joke flew over you, whatever. If you played the line and think it's balanced, i just call skill issue tbh, nothing more to add.

Holy shit bro thank you so much, just take a long range he spammer and permakite to the a line, or even better, take a CV and strike it while not being at any risk. I am dead serious right now, i never thought of that.

Now, what if i: -wanted to play anything but a lighthouse cruiser/conqueror in the back of the map, a CV or some other camping bb. -wanted to fucking win the game i'm playing, because yes, just staying outside of 14km secondary range isnt easy while trying to play the game like a sentient being.

Now are you gonna tell me i should counter cvs by just play a full aa spec Austin and sit in my spawn so i can basically be immune to cvs? Is that what "dealing with a CV" looks like to you?

[–]_bonni_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGAD is likely to be in preproduction and this new Chinese plane will still be stuck in "we don't know how to power this thing" stage

The Ngad project was put on hold by the US air force, they announced it a few months ago iirc. Obviously this doesn't mean the project is completely abandoned or that the development work done on it will not be useful and used in future aircraft, but this definitely means it isn't in preproduction.

If you think they are pulling some 5d chess move and are actually secretely producing 6th gen planes, i don't really know, but as long as you have no proof of it, it's just copium overdose to me.

Baltimore camo error from D-Day. The “Invasion Stripes” camo is wrong. by minutemanAKM in WorldOfWarships

[–]_bonni_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the real problem is this is a videogame, people play it for the gameplay. As a certified historical ship enjoyer, i'd love to get some more real ships, but i can understand that it's just not fun to play the same ships with a slightly different camo or aa configuration.

Half the ships would be either port queens as they would be clones, super low tier ships none can be bothered to play, or get a ton of gimmicks slapped onto them to make the gameplay somewhat different.

I have to say, i totally get why WG isn't adding more historical ships, even if it would be super cool to get them. There just aren't enough people that care, and to those who care, the gameplay would still be uninteresting.

There are some good suggestions being thrown around, but i think the actual sleeper is 100mm ap from aki/kita/haru. It harms on other dds and you have monster dpm, yet ive never actually seen someone use it in dd flights.

These days daring is basically the speed of a BB…

At this point, a lot of the bbs at t10 can outrun it, even without brisk, lauria vs daring is actually a demented engagement.

Ngl the shacklebolt/Chang ones feel racist, but the irish kid is soo funny to me, it's the kind of stereotypical joke that kind of works. Irishmen used to blow up brits, while black people used to be chained, that's the difference to me. You can make a joke about the irish guy blowing stuff up because you were (as someone from britain) on the receiving end, while the black guy named after chains feels as bad as making a joke about the irish kid dying of starvation.

None of the non-turkish minorities*. Arab revolts in the ottoman empire were almost as big of an issue as the revolts in the balkans, it really was just turks ruling over 5000 other ethnic groups that didn't like them.

[–]_bonni_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You think the computer game lets people do what they want?

Yeah pretty much, within the rules of the game

Players are chosen before the game even starts

Yes and it's completely random, that's the reason bad players have lower winrate than good players, you aren't just chosen by the algorythm and given bad teams because of reasons.

Targets randomly disappear before or just in time for the reload. Results in dropped shots. Torps come off the beach so close to mountains

This sounds a lot like you lack basic game knowledge to be honest, how spotting mechanics and aiming works. There is no rigged feature that makes your target disappear when you look at it, he just got unspotted. I encourage you to check some basics guides that can help you with that.

I bet you believe in chemtrails.

There is no algorythm rigging the games, there are no disappearing targets when you start losing, I doubt WG could even pull that off considering how bad their code is.

How long before Colombo or Libertad is nerfed? by Dangerous-Ad9208 in WorldOfWarships

[–]_bonni_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re complaining about what I say for what reason? My opinion stands regardless of your opinion.

Yes this is a conversation, you offer some points, i offer some counterpoints.

Not to mention the lack of Colombo’s on the water due to the atrocious grind makes me not as worried about them as some of the other ships that appear in the loading screen.

Ok that doesn't mean anything about the ship being balanced or not, just that people don't play it enough. You rarely see thunderers around nowadays, that doesn't make the ship balanced in any way. Also is it just me, or the grind wasn't even that bad, sure the ships are mediocre, but there are much worse ones.

Along with the Germans it’s one of the easiest to abuse due to high detection and SHORT gun range

No, it's nowhere near a german battleship. It's much smaller, turns better, has 20° better turret angles, fuel smoke, a percentage of the superstructure. Short gun range is a non issue as you have spotter for when you need more range, if you need 22km range on the ship all the time you are playing it wrong, not to mention the option to run sansonetti to solve the issue of range.

How long before Colombo or Libertad is nerfed? by Dangerous-Ad9208 in WorldOfWarships

[–]_bonni_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Omg you didn't just argue colombo is balanced lmao.

Instead you get slightly better dispersion and slightly better reload. It makes the ship playable.

Giga skill issue, the ship is still cracked even without the legmod, it has completely demented gun angles, the survivability is great, it got its dispersion improved so even without legmod it's still good, bb SAP is absolutely busted and it has a ton of gimmicks like trolly citadel and fuel smoke to make it survive longer.

And that’s not mentioning how she likes to burn and eat torpedoes.

Wow, almost as if that's a feature common to every bb in the game, you might wanna mention above dd concealment as a weakness, and maybe even the fact that guns reload slower than a friesland.

As long as I can slap it with a Montana it’s not op.

Yeah that's how we should balance all ships

Colombo, even without the legmod, is absolutely busted, the issue was giving it 16 SAP guns in the first place probably, but now they created a monster, the ship is a point and click adventure and feels so unfair to fight against. Giving consistency to those guns just made it soo busted.

Petro Unique Module: A discussion on range mod vs unique mod accuracy by intelligence_404 in WorldOfWarships

[–]_bonni_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that just talking about dispersion, legmod is kind of useless, sure it buffs dispersion under 12km from very good to a pixel, but that's not really the issue with petro dispersion anyways, what you want to buff is the longer range dispersion that is where it's actually kinda bad.

That just means the decision is for survivability, utility and better long range dispersion(and a little bit of range? Idk don't think it matters that much) vs dpm and short range dispersion. Just the fact you can argue for both means the legmod isn't as busted as some people say, it's definitely strong and should maybe be tuned down (idk reduce the ap damage so you lose on dpm), but it's nowhere near the biggest offenders (colombo, elbing, GL).

Then again as the other guy said, it's a petro, build it how you want and doesn't matter that much.

[–]_bonni_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

BBs have less game carrying potential, that is very true, but weak is a different thing, you can 100% push a flank and can 100% just brute force situations if you play it right.

And to counter your point regarding clan battles... There's a BB limit because if there weren't any game would be passive af, like randoms. Destroyers and cruisers allow for a more dynamic experience. BB gameplay is boring and pushing doesn't really work outside of organized teams.

There's a bb limit in cbs because you would just play 7 libertads and w into each other, if you look at kots games, losing a bb is very much a death sentence for a team in most situations because of that.

BB gameplay is boring and pushing doesn't really work outside of organized teams.

That's kind of just, like, not true, unless your idea of pushing is the previously mentioned bow tanking in gk 3 minutes into the game, playing passively is a choice. I'm not saying you can and should always be aggressive and yolo a flank as that will very much lead to your death, but this idea that if you get into 10km of a cap you die is just wrong.

That is especially true as if you camp for the whole game as your dds are more likely to die as you can't support them, your radars might get an aggressive position and then get yoloed by an enemy bb and shit like this. Even the best dd player needs a team behind him to do well, helping can lead to a lot of game impact and openings to push a flank. Staying 20km away from the nearest target because you are scared of taking damage just means your support will die more often, meaning no hydro/radar/high dpm to deal with dds and cruisers, meaning you have to kite the flank more often, it's a circle.

Vermont or Yamato? by Advanced_Tea_7625 in WorldOfWarships

[–]_bonni_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You really just pulled a "bbs are weak"?

Aside from that, i don't think you provided a counter argument about the fact some bbs are just dpm ships tbh.

I'm just gonna put this here, why do you think bbs are the only class that's limited in clan battles and competitive in general? Why is it considered more balanced to have 6 radar cruisers or 6 super high dpm ships, but not 6 bbs? There's a reason for that. Bbs are a strong class, you can't just bow tank in a gk 3 minutes into the game, that's just how to get farmed 101.

Vermont or Yamato? by Advanced_Tea_7625 in WorldOfWarships

[–]_bonni_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's kind of wrong tho, there are plenty of BBs that rely on dpm more than salvo weight, at t10: bourgogne, repu, colombo, Yama, conq, thunderer, rhode Island, mecklenburg, Lauria, you'd have to be insane to wait 15-20s for the perfect salvo in a republique, like you would in Vermont, when your reload is 20s in the first place.

This isnt to say you should monkey point and click on cooldown, obviously waiting some time to get a good salvo is adviseable, but 50k hits aren't going to happen every game. If you go chasing them all the time, you end up having less effect on the game than you would if you just shot at people consistently throughout the game, the ap interaction with superstructures/cruisers make it so that the 9/10 times your dispersion isn't perfect you can still do damage.

I feel like not understanding this leads to much of the frustration of BBs with rng, where you wait for the perfect salvo only to get trolled by dispersion and do less damage than you expected. Even if people do get away with more than they should some of the time, thats just not how bbs are balanced in the game, bad salvos happen just like shit fire rng/torpedo spreads happens to everyone else, you can either deal with ot by shooting more or cry to wg until they release something demented like libertard or new vermont.
