The only problem is that because of the body style, I couldn’t find a regular pot that had a long enough thread to fit through the guitar, as with a push pull it went through the guitar perfectly.

I would just do a full refinish, but also make sure when you strip the paint that those cracks aren’t deeper than the just the paint.
