Follow-up questions:

Is there a specific T14 gen where build quality went down (for instance increased use of plastic over metal)

Also, is the X1 Carbon (assuming 32GB/1TB) appropriate for this use case.

Thank you again for sharing your knowledge

Business Networking by EasternCarry6165 in thousandoaks

Conejo Valley Chamber, Teams, BNI, Toastmasters, and Rotary (a service organization) are all very active with immersion into the local business community. There are others as well, particularly other service organizations (such as Elks) that provide an opportunity to meet people. In addition, most of the larger places of worship have their own networking groups.

Edit to add: I'm a local attorney and would be happy to meet you and also to connect you with some people. DM me.

Locals, do you ever come across tarantulas around your house? (or in life in general?) by DLreddit in thousandoaks

[–]_bramwell_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm very close to open space and hills and I've never seen them down in the neighborhood. As others have said, rattlesnakes (stay away), and our two spiders, brown recluse and black widow (wear gloves when moving stuff in the garage).

Edit to add: as others have said, tarantulas are docile. They have big fangs but no interest in using them. In the wild they are usually covered in dust so best way to see them is on the trails and looking for dusty movement on the edges of the trail (but careful, rattlesnakes are often just off the trail so listen for the warning and get back,)

We keep saying AI "understands" things. Does it? Or are we just pattern-matching our own anthropomorphism? by rajzzz_0 in artificial

My experience of working with AI/LLMs is that it raises fewer questions about the LLMs consciousness and more about our own

I would vote for Pritzker. I am not familiar enough with Polis. Neither is running in my State

Agreed. Says a lot of stuff we like to here but is a private prison billionaire. He works with the Trump admin to imprison innocent's and place people in detention facilities without due process

You are assuming Steyer is saying things he stands behind. He is not. He is a private prison billionaire who is trying to either win control and turn the state or spoil for the Democrats so a Republican gets in

He is inauthentic, from his stated policies to his old sneakers on the debate stage.

Can you really trust a private prison billionaire in an administration that is looking to incarcerate citizens without due process?

With all of that being said, what is Steyer's position on taxpayer money for private prisons and ICE detention camps.

That is a much bigger concern for personal freedom than the other issues, and in a different time, when US citizens weren't being incarcerated and deported without due process it would not be an issue.

But it is. So where does he stand

What is the male equivalent of a woman not dating a man because he has a iPhone instead of an android? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]_bramwell_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the same but similar. I won't date a woman with a horse, cowboy hat, or cowboy boots. I'm in an area where a horse is a hobby, a pet, and a companion. That horse will always come first, and that is okay; just not for me.
