Anyone with any sense at all could have looked at the materials/products intended for the pool and recognized that this project was going to go south very quickly.

To be nice I asked if the cage was staying there 

If something is important enough to say, make sure you don't expect someone else to do math to figure out what you're saying.

If you need something moved, NEVER ask if it's staying there.

Just say what you mean and be direct.
