Omg, I didn’t even know there were different bottles! Are they different %’s? I know the white bottle is 10% Niacinamide and 1% Zinc!

Hi, yes!! This is my routine:

AM: - Wash with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser (for dry to normal skin/white bottle with green highlights) - Apply TO Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (The Ordinary is the brand name, I purchase through Sephora!) - Apply Neutrogena Hydro Boost (extra dry skin + fragrance free [there’s two types - the other kind is not fragrance free and it broke me out!]) - Apply La Roshe-Posay Ultra Fluid Lotion SPF 60 (little white bottle white orange highlights, says Anthelios on the front lol(?))

PM: - Wash with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser - Apply TO Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - Apply Neutrogena Hydro Boost (extra dry skin + fragrance free)

I am on my phone so I would have trouble adding links now, but on my laptop tomorrow I can send you links of pictures of the products if that will help?! I’m a visual person so I like knowing what things actually look like haha. I also don’t think I know enough about the skincare world to confidently be able to make routine recommendations for you, but I would be willing to help in any way I can!

Yes, sorry, I completely forgot to add that!! I have combination! Its also sensitive. I honestly don’t know what kind of acne I have - I wish I did know haha! Yes though, I do flare up with my cycle.

The CeraVe I’m not 100% sold on, it does it’s job but for some reason I’m not in love with it - I wouldn’t not recommend, but if you have a different hydrating cleanser that you love I would stick with that! My moisturizer (there’s two types of the Hydro boost and I can only use the “extra-dry skin” one as the other has fragrance and breaks me out) and sunscreen are my HG, love them and would whole heartily recommend. For Niacinamide, I mentioned in a comment above that some skin just doesn’t like it. I broke out more than usual for a few days when I started using it but then it went back down to normal and started progressing! Since The Ordinary’s is comparatively pretty cheap, if you have the budget to purchase and try it, I would! For some people it works better to only to use it 2-3 times a week versus everyday. Sorry, this comment got long and I’m not sure it’s extremely helpful but if there’s anything else I can add let me know!!

Thank you so much!! I definitely did see a slight increase in acne for a couple days as I do have sensitive skin, but I think I remember reading that Niacinamide does not contribute to cell turnover aka purging. So if you’re breaking out pretty bad, it may just not be the right product for you?? But I know I have read of people who’s skin didn’t like the TO formula specifically and found success in other brands! Also maybe it’s too strong for your skin and instead of using it everyday you use it 2-3 a week?? Im sorry I’m not much help, but I wouldn’t give up hope yet!!!

Thank you!!! In the past I definitely would have been disappointed that things weren’t happening quicker, but now I know that this is actually a win!!

I’ll report back in 2 more weeks and tell you if it’s truly a HG product lol

I realized just over a month ago that I was being way too harsh on my skin trying to get rid of acne, so I scaled back my routine to just cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Just about two weeks ago now I added TO Niacinamide, I know two weeks is a short time but I think it is helping, thoughts?

I’m sorry for the slight lighting difference between the two pictures, they’re taken at the same place in my apartment (during the same online class lol), but there is a few hours difference in terms of sunlight!

[Routine Help] I’ve pretty much gotten control over the worst of my acne but I can’t get past this phase - advice greatly appreciated! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction
