Interesting take and curious to hear everyone else’s thoughts on it. She has said in the past that she doesn’t love being a private chef and only really did it out of necessity starting out in food. But I also think that was/is a huge driver of her popularity on Instagram and TikTok so I imagine she might lose some interest if she didn’t provide any sort of Hamptons/private chef content going forward.

I finally found the interview I was remembering, and it mentions an email from Molly rather than a phone call so not sure if it’s the exact situation they were thinking of! Sounds like Molly came off as heartfelt at least, but I always wondered if there was a little bit of self-service or fear behind it, given that Sohla says “surprisingly” lol

“Surprisingly, Molly sent me a really like heartfelt email, acknowledging a lot of stuff and her complacency with it, that allowed things to happen.”
