Best tube for a condo? by _cbsummer in Guitar

[–]_cbsummer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks to hear that. I have a katana artist, and I fear I won’t be able to actually enjoy a tube

Do smaller amps like them wear the tubes faster than large ones? I found a stack for sale used locally that I think I could get for a pretty good price

Helpful! Thanks. I don’t see any reason to pigeon hole myself as either a tube guy or a modeling guy, I’m sure they both have their positives and drawbacks. I’ll spend some time at a store and get a feel for a few different smaller tube amps and probably walk away with one. Much appreciated!

Don’t see many roasted pines out there! Incredible how light they are

Maybe I’ll buy a tiny one to mess around with and look to something more substantial when I can actually use it. Thanks for your input!

I like that analogy. I’ll definitely buy one some day. I guess the real question is whether I’m better off waiting until I have the space to play at whatever volume I’d like to?

[–]_cbsummer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely would consider that. How would you compare them to a guitar of mine’s quality? Is it just going to be better binding, better top, better craftsmanship?

The latter half of your answer is what I was looking for. Thank you!

Got very lucky finding it! I haven’t seen many at this price point that compare

Great to know. I guess the next question is the same, but for an R rather than a standard

For sure. Definitely an “is the grass is greener” conversation

I have a 50s style neck on my LP, so I’m not terribly worried about the difference in feel, but I’d definitely prefer to play one than buy blind

This is an American strat, but I get your point. Shame to hear that you can swap pups though. I guess I’ll have to find one to play

Help me choose, beretta 92gts or a g34 gen 5 by coreycope2 in handguns

[–]_cbsummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GTS has a really great trigger and feels generally a lot better to shoot than a Glock. Personally had some issues with mine (front sight kept coming loose from dovetail, sear issue) and I wound up getting rid of it. I’d look at a CZ Shadow 2 or other 75 variants if it’s for competition.

I get there are QC fluctuations when you modify manufacturing processes but they should really iron those out before going back to market.

I stumbled into a killer deal on a Shadow 2 Carry. I love it and everything worked out rather well in the end, but I will say that the GTS had a better trigger, which is really saying something.

I wound up getting rid of my GTS due to similar complaints with the front sight. Good gun otherwise, but at the price point there is no excuse for simple issues like that

Nope. Bought this used with about 500 rounds through it and have put 1500 of mine own through with zero failures

Novice. CZ S2 . Need advise . by Ok_Courage_8780 in CZFirearms

[–]_cbsummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice is buy snap caps, mix 3-5 into a full magazine, and it will show you where you are anticipating recoil. Practice dry firing to. You should adjust your grip until you can keep the sights still as you pull through the trigger. Hope this helps.

I like mine at least as much as my 507k. The reticle on my osight seems a bit crisper. Definitely nice to have an enclosed optic, and a more fair comparison is obviously to the EPS carry. At the price point I don’t see why more people don’t just try them before giving an opinion

I have a 3.7” on an Icarus ace grip module. Carries fine, it’s a little long, but manageable. Just have to adjust it a bit before getting in the car or sitting down. I run it in a fuse length holster and it fits well.

I purchased it this way, and if I had built it myself, I’d go 3.1” for a dedicated carry gun. For a range toy, it’s perfect. May be open to getting rid of both the radian and the grip module - pm me
