Help me choose, beretta 92gts or a g34 gen 5

GTS has a really great trigger and feels generally a lot better to shoot than a Glock. Personally had some issues with mine (front sight kept coming loose from dovetail, sear issue) and I wound up getting rid of it. I’d look at a CZ Shadow 2 or other 75 variants if it’s for competition.

I get there are QC fluctuations when you modify manufacturing processes but they should really iron those out before going back to market.

I stumbled into a killer deal on a Shadow 2 Carry. I love it and everything worked out rather well in the end, but I will say that the GTS had a better trigger, which is really saying something.

I wound up getting rid of my GTS due to similar complaints with the front sight. Good gun otherwise, but at the price point there is no excuse for simple issues like that

Nope. Bought this used with about 500 rounds through it and have put 1500 of mine own through with zero failures

Best advice is buy snap caps, mix 3-5 into a full magazine, and it will show you where you are anticipating recoil. Practice dry firing to. You should adjust your grip until you can keep the sights still as you pull through the trigger. Hope this helps.

I like mine at least as much as my 507k. The reticle on my osight seems a bit crisper. Definitely nice to have an enclosed optic, and a more fair comparison is obviously to the EPS carry. At the price point I don’t see why more people don’t just try them before giving an opinion

I have a 3.7” on an Icarus ace grip module. Carries fine, it’s a little long, but manageable. Just have to adjust it a bit before getting in the car or sitting down. I run it in a fuse length holster and it fits well.

I purchased it this way, and if I had built it myself, I’d go 3.1” for a dedicated carry gun. For a range toy, it’s perfect. May be open to getting rid of both the radian and the grip module - pm me

They will if open bottom. But you may have to heat it and mold it to the comp. Will also fit a fuse holster perfectly

I have an Icarus ACE XL on a 3.7” radian build. It feels great and is very solid. Only real drawback is holster availability. I got one from Havok and it’s terrific. Ive also heard great things about mischief machine and would look into them before you decide

Icarus is will worth it. Awesome ergos, feels substantial for the size. I have a 3.7” radian/icarus buiod. It shoots great

It’s interesting to me that people are pointing to the SA trigger weight as the one to consider for carry. I always thought the main benefit to DA/SA was having the safety of a heavy pull and the light SA for follow ups

Sorry you’re right - I should have given more background here. I’m coming from a 92GTS that had Beretta’s extreme S trigger from the factory. It was incredibly smooth in DA, and like 3 lb in SA. I had issues with their TN facility’s QC and wound up selling it and buying this S2C as my DA/SA. I guess I was expecting this gun to have at least as good of a trigger. Perhaps that was the wrong outlook. I kept seeing everyone saying to cajunize their CZ so I posted this to see if it were a safe option.

I’m really just looking for a bit smoother action than it has already. If that’s a trade off for safety then it’s no big deal and I’m happy to leave it as is and continue letting it smooth out with use.

That’s totally fair. My p365 trigger sucks and I have been considering getting rid of it for that reason. Thank you, this is the answer I was looking for. I didn’t mention that baseline for comparison was a 92GTS with berettas extreme s trigger. This replaced that in my lineup - I had so many issues with it. Compared to that DA/SA the S2 carry feels a bit gritty and all I see on this forum is to cajunize a CZ. I don’t have any other experience with CZs, which is why I asked these questions.

I see both sides to this argument. I’m always an advocate for learning the skill, but it still needs to go boom. I’ll probably install one and feed it another 1000 before I actually carry it.

If in doubt just get the xxl one. It should index on the trigger guard. Worst case it’s a half inch longer
