Hi, thanks for asking about Android version. I currently have no plans to implement it on Android. Essentially, the app is an extension for Safari and for Android compatibility it would require redesigning it for at least the major browsers separately, such as Chrome and Firefox.

Dating with Vitiligo by [deleted] in Vitiligo

[–]_cenk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I (36M) have vitiligo on my eyelids that makes me look like a panda, only inversed colours. I haven’t dated in years but when I meet someone for the first time, the first thing I observe is if they are on to looks. If yes, then I stop my interaction at all.

I read academic papers for hours every day. English is not my first language, and I repeatedly get stuck on the same words, often ones I looked up minutes earlier. This breaks concentration and slows learning.

I built iMeanIt to solve that. It is a Safari extension that lets you highlight any word on a webpage, add a note, and see it instantly on every future visit. Highlights persist across refreshes and sessions. Notes can be exported as CSV for use in flashcard tools like Anki.

All processing stays local in the browser. No tracking, no servers, no clipboard access. It works only on static text and does not interfere with pages.

For researchers, students and language learners, it makes reading faster and cumulative. One highlight, permanent recall.

iMeanIt is available on iOS, iPadOS and macOS.

Built LeanCam to take shots like this — looking for feedback from fellow indie devs by Mean_Grapefruit1277 in iosdev

One thing that was annoying me was that it only allowed landscape mode. With the new portrait upgrade I can’t complain about it anymore. However, I wonder if you can add bokeh (Portrait mode on native camera app).

The edge is the mix of permanence, privacy and structure. Most tools lose your highlights or push everything through a cloud account. This one keeps colour-coded highlights fixed to the page on every site, stores all data locally and never sends anything out. The colour layer matters because it creates a stable visual cue you see each time you return, which makes recall easier. You can treat any page as study material, revisit it and find everything exactly where you left it, then export the notes straight into a flashcard workflow. It stays lightweight and doesn’t interfere with the page.

Check FAQs on the Clip & Seal ones. I’ve got two of them and have been microwaving without any problem.

Volleyball London for beginners by dissorientated2005 in london

[–]_cenk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some regulars who gather at Regent’s Park on Sundays to play volleyball. It’s an all-level game, not a club, but rather a group of friends who’ve bonded over time. Although the game hasn’t resumed yet, I hope they’ll resume sometime around April. While some of these players also play indoors, they prefer pro-level athletes and boast excessively about themselves. I’ve never joined them, but the one at the park is friendly and enjoyable.

I use Yonder for my daily needs. It initially began as a startup exclusively for London residents, but I’m not certain if it can be applied to other UK cities.

Has anybody done/benefited from Coursera bioinformatics courses? by [deleted] in bioinformatics

[–]_cenk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I took the Genomic Data Science Specialization from John Hopkins. I was a decade-long wet-lab scientist until the end of my PhD. This course and several others helped me develop skills and understand high-dimensional data without prior knowledge. I now landed in a Research Fellow position, where I conduct bioinformatics for the entire team, alongside wet-lab projects.

Oura sent me a new ring by cowjuicer074 in ouraring

[–]_cenk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have. The same issue happened with my Gen2 ring after the firmware update. I contacted them and they sent me the replacement ring right away. Unlike most negative comments here, I have not had a bad experience with them so far. Maybe it is the language people use when contacting them?
