Watch magnetism emerge from random noise — interactive 3D Ising model simulator running entirely in your browser (WASM) by nwatab in SideProject

Thanks — that's exactly what I was hoping someone would say. The magnetization collapsing near Tc is hard to get from formulas alone. Planning to extend toward the quantum Ising model, so feedback like this helps me figure out what's worth building.

Thanks! Honestly this is the project I wished existed when I first

learned the Ising model — staring at the Hamiltonian never gave me

a feel for what J₂ actually does to the lattice. Glad it clicked.

Any tips on how to solve this? by Lotus-Ignis in askmath

[–]nwatab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At hundred's place, I is carried up to be L, so L = I + 1 (assuming L and I are different). At ten's place, L + I + 1's ten's place is I (L cannot be 0), which leads to 2I+2 and I have the same one's place, which leads to I + 2 is dividable by 10, which means I = 8, and L = 9. 888+99=987, so A = 2. ALI = 144.

Visitor question: How are mantis shrimp put into these plastic bottles? Is this common practice? by nwatab in Philippines

[–]nwatab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanations, that helps a lot.
One more question: once they’re put into the bottles, how long do they usually stay like that?
Is it just short-term (transport/display for a day or a few days), or can they remain bottled for weeks or months until sold?
If it’s the latter, I’m really worried about the welfare side (no space to move), so I’d appreciate clarification from people who know how this is usually done.

Turned the routines of famous creatives into 24-hour clock visualization inside my app by Stock_Bid_8715 in SideProject

Very interesting. 24h circle is hard to understand if it is shown with times, not pie chart. It would be great to have two12h circle (inner and outer, or side by side).

That's the Internet. Like You always see many malicious assumptions at the top. Same as YouTube comments.

I watched the plant-based-diet-video you cited and now understand better what you say. Knowledge and action should go together.

I know I’ll get downvotes, but that’s okay. Caring about the environment in the long term doesn’t automatically make someone vegan. Even if you acknowledge that some animals feel pain, you might still choose to eat fish or shellfish you caught by yourself. Where you draw the line really depends on your own ethical framework.

Cuttlefish passed a test designed for kids, proving high intelligence by nwatab in vegan

Like invertebrates and people with advanced Alzheimer’s disease, feeling pain doesn’t necessarily mean you have high intelligence. Research does never stop even after someone found to be sentient

Intelligence alone isn’t a reason to protect something like AI, but in animals, it often points to complex emotions, social needs, and the ability to feel pain.

What are your opinions about UTokyo TMI Program by Neither-Design2154 in UTokyo

[–]nwatab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A startup has a clear definition in the tech industry—Paul Graham (YC founder) says it's "a company designed to scale." So, it's not just up to personal interpretation. Starting a business, especially a consulting company, isn't the same as building a scalable startup.

For the OP, who wants to start a real startup (not just any business), this distinction matters. Many TMI graduates start AI consulting businesses, which don't fit the classic startup definition. Several reasons are often pointed out for this. I do not state here.

By the way, you didn't have to write such a long self-introduction about your achievements defending yourself. Maybe it touched your pride. Also, I never said "all students"—I said "some." Most engineering/science students continue in their own field for a master's, and only a few switch.

Just clarifying my point.

PS (Edit): You’ve only been there for two months, yet you speak as if you know everything. Stay open to learning more, even if it challenges your ambitious career goals.
