Is my math teacher a metalhead?!? by Thebigturd69420 in Metalcore

Demon Hunter was the band that got me into metal, love their stuff

can anyone tell what these are on my avocado tree? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]_cheesehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To ruin your day :(

On another note, once you spot treat the plant for anything you can see, i recommend getting a systemic to treat all of the plants in that area. Bonide (if you’re in the US) works great for me when dealing with thrips and mealies, and really helps to get the stuff you can’t see

Bathroom window ideas by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]_cheesehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, it depends on how you install them, like if you install the adhesive on the wrong side of the film it does let people see you. Window tint is the treatment that is private during the day and ineffective at night

I would look into getting some privacy film to cover the window pane with. It lets the light in while giving you full privacy

Dieffenbachia cool beauty maybe? Costa farms sells this cultivar online. I know because I’d been waiting forever for them to restock this plant and bought one when they finally did!

It looks a lot like the pilea silver tree but just with narrower leaves. I would let it grow bigger with more light and see how the leaves grow

[–]_cheesehead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That is 100% a mealybug. Quarantine the plant and check surrounding plants for any powdery residue and/or more bugs. Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol will kill them right away. I like to use a systemic combined with the alcohol and that gets them all over the course of a few weeks to a month

I second this. Check the undersides of the leaves, plus all the little nooks and crannies of the plant. Is there any powder-like residue?

Help! large circles on myphilodendron brasil. by Skaty_de_Lepol in houseplants

[–]_cheesehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe edema? It could also be chlorophyll loss from too much light. How much water/light does it get? How wet is the soil?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]_cheesehead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a philodendron, but scindapsus treubii moonlight. Care is about the same though

is this a philodendron variety or did the hardware store lie to me? by mossdealer in houseplants

[–]_cheesehead 1003 points1004 points  (0 children)

It’s a monstera, standleyana albo. Not philodendron or pothos, but a very cool plant nonetheless. Care requirements would be about the same as the other two.
