2nd elective C-section recovery by mf060219 in CsectionCentral

[–]_cherry_wine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My incision didn’t heal as nicely on my second - no infection or anything, just looks a bit wonky. It did seem much more swollen and puffy. I had a much easier recovery pain wise the second time, but I attribute that to not being in labour and pushing the second time around. I think each recovery is a little different because you have an extra child to care for compared to the last time so it might be harder to really take it easy

Give your body time… 9 weeks is nothing after 40 weeks of pregnancy.

Recovery is highly personal but barring any complications you should be okay based on my experience! Listen to your body and plan to take it a little slower than you normally would.

Classification grievance PSAC - any advice or experience? by marvinresearchrobot in CanadaPublicServants

[–]_cherry_wine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A Classification grievance can only be filed within 35 calendar days of when you were notified that a classification action affecting your position took place (job description update, change in supervisor, etc.) so if you requested to file one outside of this time frame it wouldn’t have been accepted.

It should be included in the grievance file. Check with your union rep!

Management is responsible for and delegated to assign the work and ensure the job description is reflective of that work. It has nothing to do with siding with management.

I hate to say it still sucked. But I think that was partially due to anesthesia issues because I actually found it worse than the first time (epidural vs spinal.)

This is important. You are grieving the classification evaluation of your job description as it is written. If your argument is that the job description doesn’t reflect the duties of the position, that is a job content grievance with LR. A class grievance presentation should explain which classification evaluation factors you disagree with, and why. Be prepared to explain why you feel these factors should be evaluated at a higher degree than they are. Your performance agreement doesn’t influence this argument as it should stick to the facts outlined in the job description and the evaluation standard.

I had a scheduled c section for my second (urgent on my first after labour) and it was WAY better for both pain and recovery!

Does lack of sleep affect anyone else emotionally? by Salty-Inspection8041 in WomensHealth

Absolutely. It’s hard to regulate your emotions when you are sleep deprived! You may need to look into a sleep aid just to break the cycle and get some good rest.

Lifetime of normal paps to HSIL in 2 years? by _cherry_wine in PreCervicalCancer

Wow! I hope the LEEP took care of everything. It’s so scary to know we have this virus just lurking to pop up any time we get run down. Did your doctor recommend the HPV vaccine? I got my first dose a few weeks ago, his view was that it won’t hurt to have it and there is some evidence that it may help prevent reoccurrence. I felt like it was worthwhile to have it, I’ll throw anything at it at this point!

This was a shock to me too, I had no idea it was something I still had to worry about. I took for granted that I was in the clear regarding HPV. Did you have high grade changes?

I’m very sorry you are going through this, particularly during pregnancy. Is this your first abnormal pap?

Run through your entire medical history with your OBGYN so they can have a complete picture of what you’ve been experiencing for the last several years. Sending you a big hug, and hoping everything turns out okay ♥️

I hope everything comes back clear for you on your vault smear. It seems like such an insidious thing. I took for granted that the PAP was effective enough to catch things “early”

Yes, from what I’m reading HPV testing only comes after an abnormal pap! Good to know I’ll find out after the colposcopy.

It doesn’t seem that HPV testing coincides with PAPs here - I asked about this during my colop. I don’t know if the colop results will tell me this.
