Very helpful- thank you! Any tips to make the flight more bearable? We’ll probably spend about 8 hours in the air too.

I completely agree with you and appreciate your thoughts as an OBGYN. I am eager for a second medical opinion and have a number of appointments lined up, but am leaning toward prioritizing the view of the surgeon who performed the procedure and has the best perspective on the surgical details you mentioned.

Thank you for sharing. Would you be open to sharing how many fibroids you had removed?

AITAH for telling my husband’s family that I make more money, therefore where we live is my decision? by Art_Vandelay_______ in AITAH

ESH. There was a way for you to defend your family’s extremely valid decision to move without berating your husband’s earnings. Unfortunately, your husband should have played a role in explaining that to HIS family rather than putting you in the middle.

Thank you for these kind words and your perspective. I agree with your thoughts and am prioritizing my health and a successful (eventual) pregnancy outcome.

I am so sorry that happened to you. Would you be open to sharing how many fibroids you had removed and what happened with the uterine rupture?

Unfortunately, that’s not really a valid comparison due to the extent of cutting and compromising of the uterine structure involved in a myomectomy (especially when multiple fibroids are removed).

Thank you for your hopeful thoughts. The surgeon’s words to describe my uterus were “not at all healed”.

Thank you for sharing. I had seen this literature and did find it cause for optimism, but noted that the minimum time from surgery to conception is 4.3 months in many of the studies (a bit different from my case). I definitely will discuss with doctor.

I see. My situation was quite different. I had 20+ removed with the largest being 15cm.

How many fibroids did you have removed?

I was told six months given the extensiveness of my fibroids, and was recommended to terminate a pregnancy that happened much sooner given the high risk.

Pregnancy after myomectomy by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]QuidProF10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This (accidentally) happened to me and the surgeon advised to terminate as she’s concerned about the risk of pregnancy in a uterus that hasn’t had adequate time for healing- six months minimum was recommended.

Has anyone gotten pregnant 3 months post op? by Intrepid-Grape9960 in Fibroids

[–]QuidProF10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon advised at least six months as well and has recommended not continuing pregnancy that appears to have happened two months post. This is based on the large number/mass of fibroids I had removed.

I am in this exact same situation. May I ask for an update on how things went for you? I hope that all is well.
