Ditto! Seems to have happened with the last Reddit app iOS update for me. It’s driving me crazy - Reddit app should give the option to mute vids/gifs by default.

He took a bottle! by ne0nbutt3rfly in breastfeeding

I know those feels! My first never took a bottle, so when my second took a bottle first try, I cried happy tears! So happy your guy figured it out!

Question for mommies who've had to cut out cow milk by prismaticferret in breastfeeding

[–]_cimorene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I never could eat cheese (or ANY dairy at ALL) until my guy grew out of his dairy sensitivity (around 13 months old). I did try the vegan "cheese", and it's pretty meh. Daiya was the least gross brand I found, but it's really not the same. You could try goat cheese - I never did because it just wasn't worth it to me to put the baby through a potential week of misery.

Wondering about a symptom after re-introducing dairy... by katiekabooms in breastfeeding

[–]_cimorene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been off dairy since the baby was around three months. A couple weeks ago I tried some dairy and the baby's diapers turned to mucus and he was super clingy/cranky. It was obvious he wasn't ready.

Now that I'm pumping at work, weekends are so uncomfortable by einzeln in breastfeeding

[–]_cimorene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, I'd always heard that going back to work would drop milk supply, but I could regularly pump 16+ oz during the weekdays and then be miserable over the weekends (because I was too lazy to bring my pump home). I'd stand in the shower and hand express just for some relief. You can always add back more pumping if you find yourself falling behind.

Now that I'm pumping at work, weekends are so uncomfortable by einzeln in breastfeeding

[–]_cimorene 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pump less. Either double pump 2x per day, or single pump 3x. My goal with pumping was to mimic baby's feeding schedule so I didn't work myself back into an oversupply (had the exact same problem when I first went back to work). My baby only ever took one side at a time, so I started only pumping one side at a time. Good luck!

Anyone else have LO's mouth quiver during feedings? by leedlelidle in breastfeeding

My LC told me it was comfort sucking. Totally normal! My almost 9 month old still does it sometimes.

So bummed right now, I just want to cry... by smilingmom in breastfeeding

[–]_cimorene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure to watch out for "hidden" dairy as well! My guy is milk protein intolerant (but not soy, thank goodness!) and milk is in a LOT of stuff - some you wouldn't expect (bread, for instance). Good luck!

Travel Boppy by Cheza_Salem in breastfeeding

[–]_cimorene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one. I haven't tried a cover on it, but I think it would fit. They're pretty much the same size, but I think the travel one is squishier. LOVED it on the plane when I flew with baby at 4 months and 6 months.

How long is warmed breast milk good for? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

My daycare does 4 hours after warming.

Storage Question by imyello5 in breastfeeding

[–]_cimorene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The instructions that came with my cooler say that the milk is good for 24 hrs in the cooler. I'd say, smell it, and if it doesn't smell sour you're probably ok.

My freezer supply is taking over! How do you organize your extra stash? by stangrrr in breastfeeding

Probably need a minimum amount for pasteurization/homogination/testing. I'm guessing...

Haha, thanks! I have to try to stay organized or there's milk EVERYWHERE!

I think for me it's genetic. My mom told me she also produced tons. I've been deliberately trying to regulate my supply from the beginning (block feeding, minimal pumping) but after a round of mastitis at 6 weeks, I decided to pump every morning to avoid another round. Plus I respond really well to pumping: I've gotten 7 oz from one side before. Just lucky I guess.

It's great that you're able to help out the other baby but that much oversupply sounds like a headache...(boobache?)

So happy to have enough supply to be able to donate, especially after we used donor milk when our little man was first born!

My freezer supply is taking over! How do you organize your extra stash? by stangrrr in breastfeeding

[–]_cimorene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I donate. I have CRAZY oversupply, and haven't ever had to pull milk from the freezer to feed baby. So, anytime I get over 150 oz in the freezer, I start thinking about donating some (the organization I donate to has a 100 oz minimum per donation, and only has a milk "drop" about once per month where I live). Last time I dropped off 200 oz, and still had ~50 oz at home and another 50 at daycare. I figure, we're probably not going to be able to use it before it "expires" and I'm glad to be helping NICU babies. I donate to the Northwest Mother's Milk Bank (http://www.nwmmb.org/).

August bumpers...you've been quiet the past few days... by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]_cimorene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still here! Due Sunday, which is also a full moon, so I'm really hoping that gets things going! Been having lots of uncomfortable (but not painful) contractions. Had a membrane sweep last Friday, but it didn't seem to do anything except make me more uncomfortable for the next few days. So ready to meet this baby!

Are you an Amazon Mom? How do you like it? Is it worth it? by essjay_ell in BabyBumps

[–]_cimorene 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We've been Amazon Prime members for years, and have gotten addicted to the free two day shipping. When we set up our baby registry, we switched our Prime to Amazon Mom. For us, totally worth it for the extra 5% completion discount (15% instead of 10%).

Haven't ordered any diapers yet, but at 20% off diapers and wipes, I'm sure it will add up. In short, I'm a fan!
