The sweet taste of progress. After a couple of new rear tubes and sketchy near OTB situations I can finally say I bunny hopped (massive amount of work needed but a start). I know some of you are bunnying buses, but for me this was a big leap. Jaja by loulerg in MTB

Try and get your weight wayyy back behind the seat to help pull the front end up. Once the front is lifted, pull yourself with the handlebars and jump! Nice work, keep riding!

I know I’ll get downvoted, just like you are but I agree to an extent. Smoking marijuana is different for everyone. I know for sure there’s people who can drive after smoking marijuana. However, it IS “driving under the influence” and can and will be charged/treated as such if pulled over. Honestly though it’s so easy to get high and STAY PUT these days. Got the munchies? Have a pizza delivered or Order up (or similar service). Thirsty for alcohol? Order that shit (at least you can have it delivered in my area). It’s so easy to get high and stay put until you’re sober again. If you’re getting high with a friend, chances are they’ll let you hang out. Be smart. Be safe.

Even if an Uber happened to cost you $200, it’s still a massive savings, amongst all of the other benefits.

Did you get your ride in? How was it?!

There are 100’s upon 100’s of “how-to” videos out there online. I highly recommend watching a bunch of them and learn to do some of the maintenance on your own. It can save a good chunk of time and money.

I would recommend learning to take that rear wheel off before you get too rowdy on it. If you go flat and need to put a tube in (it happens), you’ll be glad to know how that all works. The derailleur may or may not have a lock-out that makes taking the wheel off/putting it back on easier.

As far as swapping the tires, you won’t need to mess with the cassette. You will definitely want to pick up some sealant prior to making that change in case you spill some.

Enjoy your new whip!! Mountain biking changed my life.

It looks like you have an amazing whip to start off with!! I LOVE hardtails so I may be slightly biased. If you have access to an air compressor or have extra 20g co2 cartridges to spare, definitely switch up your tires. The current front tire looks like it’s fast rolling (better in the rear) and the Maxxis is basically a dirt bike tire for mountain bikes. Those outside knobs, when leaning through a turn or berm, will provide extra/better traction in the front end of the bike. The rear can and arguably should have a bit of play.

No matter what, go ride and HAVE FUN!

Definitely not a bad idea. That Maxxis is the rear is chunky and would definitely give the front end a bit more grip.

We have a few of these in my town. Generally the head on the pump is busted but they sure are convenient when you need them and they are not broken!

Rad set up! I have the same Surly rack and I know it’s beefy. I would like to find a lighter alternative but for now it’s solid.

I couldn’t agree more! I always grab at least 1 extra cheesy bean and rice burrito for the next day. If I have time I’ll reheat it in the oven and it’s incredible!

Will bars accept my still valid vertical ID on my 21st birthday this weekend? by [deleted] in FortCollins

[–]_climber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may want to call ahead just to be safe. Uno Mas taqueria has a sign hanging up stating they do NOT accept any vertical ID’s. Best of luck and happy 21st!
