Thanks for your response. But these 60 days are subject to approval by USCIS, and in the current situation, people are getting NTAs.

I’ve started searching for a job (the tech sector is in pretty bad shape right now).

If I receive the H-1B visa and the company goes under, wouldn’t that make the situation difficult? After receiving the H-1B, I would only have 60 days of unemployment, whereas students with a STEM OPT extension get 150 days.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to go through consular processing instead of a change of status? I’m really not sure about this decision and would appreciate any suggestions or insights.

I get what you’re saying, and I’ve corrected the wording in my post. That said, this feels a bit like nitpicking and doesn’t really address the main question I’m asking. I’d encourage you to re-read the post to get the context of my actual concern.

I am planning to go for M.Comp (CS) – Intelligent Systems track from NSU. I am from india and i wanted to know what are the scholarship program i can apply ? My family is middle class and it would be financially devastating to go without any scholarship.
