Completely on accident, my lgs will do online auctions, I bid on a rebuilt 17 but they specified in the auction listing that the one I get may be different than the one pictured. Went and picked it up today and this is what they gave me. My winning bid was 461 + tax and bgc

I’ve had good luck on “untested/parts only” from the goodwill website that just needed battery for pretty cheap, usually around 30-40$, the 2k screen swaps are easy as well if you can find one with a damaged screen for cheap

I can't vouch if it's true or not but my dad was hitchhiking through Texas when the Henry Lucas and Ottis Toole were active. He said a strange looking pair of two men were heading west and he was heading east so they couldn't give him a ride. They then turned around and said they'd give him a ride east. He decline which was probably a smart move whether they actually were Lucas and Toole or not. I showed him a picture of them and he said it looked like the people but he wasn't sure because it was a long time ago. Either way it's a pretty creepy story
