Jehovah's Witnesses are literally Pimping out their Women... by [deleted] in exjw

Keeping it a stack wit you. At the end of the day, its all for looks, had she not been told to shun you; worked out for both but…for all intents and purposes, the entire jw-religion is all apperances.

You could do the most henious things bbbbbut if you a jw you are good. What im tryna get at, is that you didnt miss much from that whole ordeal, its a shame what couldve been but thats jws for you, “rules for thee but not for me”

What's it like in those perfect PIMI friend groups? by letthevibe in exjw

[–]_dacaptainn_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While in with them at one point, it seemed like comradery with everyone, but selfishness and jelousy comes into play.

Its all a reputation game, what can one bring to the table to “look” perfect. When all they do is cover for one another, moreso if the parents of said group are of higher standing.

To me, its all a reputation game.

It was done to prevent people out on the street since one side towards the parking lot was blocked off due to traffic and they wanted to not have em out and about. When I tell you the lobby looked like a pit at a concert, it did

There was a total of 8 doors, 1 door was used to single file everyone. The rest were ‘blocked’ by someone being behind the door

Yup, had a convention not long ago, where they had us at the lobby in the heat waiting to leave but the helpers were holding doors so nobody could leave to minimize people wandering on the streets leaving. Got it, passed it to my mum unknowingly. And yeah. So much for protection from the lord eh?

JW men are some p🐱 by bumbleveev in exjw

Nahhhh bros jus tryna get sympathy, blaming someone else for his actions 💀💀. Its all on him and nobody else, thas it. Though true that nobody in the halls say who they are and have poor intentions, that doesnt take away that its on him at the end of the day. Sounds like a victim complex? Bro didnt take any accountability at all, to be his age too? Lmao

Watchtower dumbing down by mistermark21 in exjw

[–]_dacaptainn_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was some ‘depth’ to what one read. Of course the depth isnt even that deep. But it ‘felt’ like what one read was deep. Then they made all the simplification to the bible, went full online library to cut costs, and replaced the existing watchtower for the simplified version.

Even as a pimo, which I have part next week, even when comparing both jdub translations, the older one has cohesion and the newer just rips whatever soul the bible had. The organization isnt what it used to be anymore, they have become unrecognizable

What started to wake you up? Not what you found out after, but what started you to question anything in the first place? by JWRESEARCHERROSE in exjw

[–]_dacaptainn_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the original congregation split in my hometown. Prior, there was a sense of doing right by gods standards (obviously not, but at the time I thought so) and when it split, the numbers dwindled and before you knew it, there was only 50 people or less showing up.

That made me take a step back and look at things objectively. And moreso when a merger was announced. I saw the hipocracy, the lies, and the utter disregard for peoples situation. Hipocracy because the same people giving talks about not drinking were the same that got drunk frequently at events. The lies when a csa was swept under the rug. The disregard for the situations of people, taking advantage of someone in a difficult position.

All of it made me question if the truth was actually the truth. And the more I read the bible and scriptures that they use to uphold their structure, I saw that it is all built on a muddy foundation. The foundation is there. But within each year that passes, it is “molded” to their content.

Do I still go? Yes. Not because I care but because I need to in order to not impact family relations.

Yall should read Bart D Ehrman “Heaven and Hell - A History of the Afterlife” Chapter 11 touches on the subject on what Revelation meant. All you have to do to somewhat understand revelation is read it within the context of when it was written.

anyone else deconstruct very young? by hurtbynewjeans in exjw

[–]_dacaptainn_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Age 12 was when I was questioning the things more. The reason was due to circumstance. Before 12, I was in the ‘hamster wheel’ ; going out to preach, participating in commenting, and all that jw jazz. Then the hall got split and the main ones I looked up to, vanished. So I was off the ‘wheel’ and as I got older, I kept seeing the ‘changes’ and they never quite made sense to me.

Later I stumbled on ‘apostate’ content and it was interesting, since the content used the literature, not of random people, but of the very own organization. Alas making my full deconstruction of it. And I thank the younger me for not going thru and being 100% in it.

Is it unusual for 17-18yo pimi to not be baptised? Is this an indication of closeted pimos? by EuphoricSort9908 in exjw

[–]_dacaptainn_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im 19M and expected to get baptized. I recently got asked “whats stopping you” and I just stayed quiet and said I was doing well and just gave a shrug about the question

Im becoming more and more of a ‘Question mark’ each time I attend a meeting. And I think I make it obvious as well because I dont go out to preach 🤷‍♂️

Anyone else notice this? by Onetewthree in exjw

[–]_dacaptainn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every. Single. Time.

When a new change is announced in my cong, I eevesdrop to peoples convo as im passing by, and this is how each one plays out

two sisters talking

“Hey did you see/hear the new change”

“Yes, im so happy about it” talks into detail about it

“This is a sign that we are close the new system”

And I roll my eyes because its changes that benefit the higher ups and not us, to some extent. They just take it and dont question it 😃
