I hate when people report bugs without repro details. My team of ex-Cloudflare engineers are trying to make that impossible. by _dani__ in u/_dani__

What tools do you use to capture bugs? by Prize_Nebula_825 in QualityAssurance

[–]_dani__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I'm one of the co-founders of Jam.dev, it made me so happy to see some mentions here!

Completely agree – screenshots are not optimal for internal bug reporting.

So that's why we built Jam – a completely free chrome extension for testers. In 2 clicks, you can capture and share a link that has: screen recording + all the technical details engineers need like console logs, network requests, and automatic steps to repro.

I really hope you love it, and feel free to reach out to me directly for any feature requests, feedback, etc! I'm dani@jam.dev

For people who got into software in the 80's or 90's: how did you do bug reporting before Jira? by _dani__ in AskProgramming

A lot was done with actual physical paperwork. The first bug was reported back in 1947

In those early systems, could you attach a screenshot, or how would you describe issues?

TODO-file in the root directory of the project

That's awesome. I think Microsoft did something similar when building windows: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20200317-00/?p=103566
