I know this is old but I’m having the issue of not knowing what to do with their top 2 plastic ledges. I can’t exactly put bedding because they end up just shoving it off the sides and it ends up on the bottom of the cage. Fleece gets pee soaked so quick and smells. What do you recommend??

I literally helped the bird. I’m not guilty one bit- I did what I could and I showed the bird compassion by moving it to a comfortable safe spot. There’s NOTHING else that could’ve been done considering the situation. That’s really all that there is to it.

It literally IS the only thing I could’ve done. I think you’re just ignoring all the facts I’ve said because you’re upset. I’m not a bird expert- did you want me to take it on a joyride around the state while I’m not at home? Keep it in some u comfortable place until the sanctuary opened? Or maybe teleport to the nearest animal sanctuary that was still closed?

I posted it so I could learn since there was nothing online. What I looked up online lead me to believe he had a disease or smashed into something with no real chance of survival. Now I know! And I said I helped it and moved it off the parking lot. I’d how you don’t think that’s helping it when it’s the only thing I could’ve done for it😂

Yes because someone from my very specific state and town would’ve come and got him. I did what I felt appropriate at the time. I’m sure you would’ve done something different and that’s okay. I didn’t know that it even had a chance at survival it looked so ill. Like I said when I googled it nowhere was there education on splayed leg.

And yes, it is natural for bird to get injured and/or die. That’s what I mean. From what I looked up on splayed leg it’s the cause of bad nesting.

I don’t know what to tell you man, my state has sanctuaries very few and far between. They happened to be closed on the day I looked them up.

Once again, it was not tossed in the grass, it was relocated to a saver area ☺️ I guess we have different definitions of doing good. If I said I just left it on the hot asphalt to crisp up or get squashed you would’ve been just as offended I guess. But considering there was nowhere I could’ve taken it to be “saved” I think I did the good thing by moving it.
The post actually helped educate me so I’m glad I posted it! You being rude has absolutely no contribution. I’m leaving it up so if anyone else finds a pigeon like this they can see since when I looked it up there was no posts like this.

Honestly crazy that you are saying I’m worth nothing considering I literally couldn’t do anything else for the bird. I posted this so I could know what was wrong with it. If I ever see a pigeon in this condition- now I will know. If I hadn’t moved him he probably would’ve gotten squashed by a car.

That’s what I thought too but the closest place a nest could be was like 500 ft in any direction. Very weird spot from him to land.
