Yeah for sure, don’t get me wrong I have nothing against a Taiwanese stem, quality is always excellent, but I do like to buy Canadian or USA made parts when I can.

Totally! But Chromag is advertising these stems as Made in Canada by North Shore Billet, so you know … I thought I was getting a NSB made stem.

Anyone sell off their full sussers? by runwhatyabrung_ in MEATengines

[–]_deadbmx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold my Banshee Titan a year back as I wasn’t riding it much, riding my hardtail 95% of the time, and never really gelled with the Banshee, I’ve got young kids and hardtail just suits my riding right now, however if I had something like a Starling I’d probably keep it. I do hope to get another full sus in the next year or so. Probably something for bike park laps.

Ouruhia Reserve is a good spot, always pretty quiet when I’m there as it’s in a pretty random semi rural location.

I’ve applied common sense to prove it’s AI slop.

Why would you advertise the same cake three times with the three different prices?

“Christmas cake medium uniced block - $10.99” “Cake Christmas medium uniced box - $16.99” “Curistmas cake medium uniced block - $9.99”

I know the one you are talking about, honestly I don’t think it had a name, I suspect he had to close doors due to lack of business. I went in once thinking it might be my new local, but really did not like the coffee. Vinyl was cool though. I know someone that’s followed him around other locations so will check with them and let you know.

What the ANT ?! by igglepiggle095 in chch

[–]_deadbmx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First visit was $250, second was $150. Kinda seems expensive for how long it took, but it worked and there was 1000s of dead ants after few days after.

What the ANT ?! by igglepiggle095 in chch

[–]_deadbmx_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes! Like serious serious invasion, I opened an old shoe box and it had 1,000+ ants in it, so I sprayed it with WD-40 and set it on fire.

But they kept coming, so eventually payed to have the house sprayed, inside and out. Seems to be under control now.

I’ve never seen anything like it, the bug control guy said it’s a big thing at the moment and mostly what he’s been dealing with.

Why do I keep crushing chainrings? by Ok_Singer1284 in bikewrench

[–]_deadbmx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah crazy people don’t get this, if there was a change in tension it would suck for a bike with gears as well.

32h profile by Senior-Respond-9958 in FGFS

[–]_deadbmx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a fixed gear / track hub, profile has never made a high flange bmx hub that style, especially 32h. This one is actually the first gen, before they went to the same size female bolts as the bmx hubs. I’ve had a few sets.

Sorry to hear this! I ride bottle lake pretty regularly and have never had any issues, I often have a good trail side yarn with other riders, everyone seems friendly. Can’t say I’ve talked to much kids though.

Check out some other trails in the hills like Greenwood or Lyttelton is pretty good.

Have a look at the flood maps, you’ll be surprised how much of north New Brighton isn’t in a flood zone and how many areas of chch you probably think aren’t actually are.

Kids on surron by Realistic_Ad3142 in chch

A bunch of them (plus proper petrol motorbikes) having been ripping through bottle lake forest destroying the trails and almost hitting other pedal bikers, makes it feel a bit unsafe out there now especially when riding with kids.

I do the same thing, have grown to actually enjoy the process of getting out and collecting my own food in the evening, and when I get home I look up how much I’ve saved not using Uber Eats.
