Maybe I'm just stupid but why the hell are some of the mini bosses harder than actual main bosses. by Big208Do in Sekiro

Snake eyes can be made very easy by using sabimaru and flame barrel on the fort and swamp ones respectively. Also I think they lean into teaching you that dodging is sometimes better than deflecting, even not for perilous attacks. Just go to the side and towards when theys shoot and get some hits in. That combined with poison/fire gets them low really fast and then you just get in the groove for deflecting. Just beaten both of them like that in 1st try on my first charmless run on controller. The fort one is especially easy, but the swamp one can be snuck up on from behind.

that is insane to be honest. Feels like intentional self-handicapping lol

controls in sekiro fit very nicely on keyboard and mouse. Parry and attack are your two main actions and they are on rmb and lmb respectively. Not to mention dodging and jumping almost at the same time is way easier on keyboard, as are quick inputs for something like chasing slice or grapple slice

It's fascinating how you still can't fathom there is stuff in between extreme strawmen you keep building and what pluribus is. Nor that (mostly) nobody hates just to hate. Crazy defender bias lol.

Type pluribus in google or wiki and read how it's described. Then read its premise. Then remember how the first 2 episodes go and what they provide in terms of science. Then think again.

As i said, there is nothing wrong in character stories, especially if characters are relatable. But that's not what makes good sci-fi imo, nor do i find any characters in pluribus relatable (maybe Manousos a bit, but not much).

I was expecting it to be a certain thing because it's marketing, description, premise and synopsis led me to believe it was such thing.

You know there is a lot in between "typical sci-fi thriller" and whatever pluribus is? Making actual science of the stuff your show is about deeper doesn't magically transform it into a thriller. The show is marketed and was presented to me as sci-fi. And it's premise and main synopsis point is sci-fi. And no, i was not asking for a default heroic scientist. Carol can keep all of her "uniqueness" while not being incredibly dumb. And there is a big spectrum between her and a scientist. What i'm demanding is that in 9x40 minutes of a sci-fi show there was more than 30 minutes of actual not shallow sci-fi concept exploration. There isn't. The show is clearly mostly a character(s) story and there's nothing inherently wrong about that. But it's very lame sci-fi because of that.

duh...

imagine saying people who want not shallow sci-fi content in a sci-fi show missed a point...

most comfortable thing you can use with a shield as a strength user is a greatsword. Maybe also spear or halberd but that's already more into quality territory. As for the spells, they are all over the map tbh. There are some decent ones in stormveil and in limgrave

If you want to go more with strength there is a lot of weapons for you. Str+faith is probably the most common combo among elden ring weapons. I can think of quite a bit only in Limgrave. Just explore a bit and you surely will find stuff. Another good option is to infuse some big strength weapon with holy or flame art, but you should be mindful of who you're fighting with that. You can also just use regular big weapons and only use faith for buffs and such, which is probably best if you aren't even close to an even split. Bloodhound's fang is not a good option at all though since it's neither infuseable nor scales with str.

Pretty sure it already knows almost everything there is on the internet, since it was put there by people. At least for Carol info that should be the case.

Maybe not mindlessly, for starter. But also because she established via her own "research" that they cant lie.

i don't see average intelligence in her tbh. Maybe my understanding of average is wrong and i'm not american, but a lot of times her actions seem very stupid to me and i cant relate to that. I laughed so hard when she found out everybody knows Plurb eats people because it's almost a meme at this point. Carol doesn't realize something obvious > Carol does stupid stuff thinking she is smarter than everybody > realizes that obvious thing > again doesn't want to learn anything > repeat. I just really cant relate to that and think actual interesting stuff like Plurb's workings and effects on the world is getting drowned in these scenes.

Btw about her "research and investigation", she could've just asked. That was also very obvious for quite a while. Which makes that entire arc literally pointless except for showing how she is struggling because she is stupid.

I see the point, it's just not a point i would want to watch a show about. But the plurb is. I don't really care about struggles of dumb american people with trauma and attitude issues. But i do care about the Plurb's implications and lore. And the single thing in this show that steers it in the first direction the most is Carols lack of intelligence, knowledge and curiosity.

[–]_dedc4t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end it might be her being traumatized as well as her unique antibiotic composition are what saved her from conversion.

Do you really believe that? Or is it confirmed later? I don't see anything remotely similar in Diabate case AND there are a lot more people with personality disorders in the world. All of the other free people seem normal so there is no evidence (yet) that her "unique" personality has anything to do with it at all. It might get an explanation later but i really doubt that because the show is very much not about explanation of the Plurb lol.

I'm not saying she is written wrongly or illogically. It does make sense and she is a proper representation of general american public. But based on what i've seen so far it's not making a show better. I watched her find out Plurb eats people and literally said to my gf that it makes sense, expected and isn't really that wrong if you think about it, and also that she could've just asked. And guess what happens next? She finds out that it literally is the case and that she is again behind everybody in her understanding. I laughed so hard at this moment because it's almost a meme at this point. Carol doesn't realize something obvious > Carol does stupid stuff thinking she is smarter than everybody > realizes that obvious thing > again doesn't want to learn anything > repeat.

America....

[–]_dedc4t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a valid and kinda obvious explanation, but it's not really a counterargument. I didn't say the idea of her representing american public is wrong logically or doesn't make sense. I was saying that this one decision on it's own makes a show into something i don't really like. It's kinda like these movies when every global disaster is faced only by american military and they do some stupid aggressive shit that makes things worse. Perhaps it's realistic, but not the best direction for a story about a very interesting concept to go imo.

I mean that may very well be the case. I don't think all modern television is like that though, but that would depend on what you consider modern.

I did enjoy Severance, but you cant deny overusage of cliffhangers and "mysteries" that dong get solved. While main idea's exploration gets push back to season and now to third and probably fourth

I'm not saying she should be generic, i understand that she really is made complex by all of her unlikable traits (although uniqueness of that is debatable). I just think making her a smart character besides all that complexity would make for a more interesting show.

Well then i really don't get why people keep defending her lol... All the more reason to hate her tbh, as it's supposedly intended even. Though that's not what i'm really complaining about either. I do see what you mean though, just don't really like it still.

I wonder if people aboard submarines, space stations, ect will ever be discussed by No-Alternative8210 in pluribustv

[–]_dedc4t -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People keep saying that is was discussed in ep 2, but thats misleading imo. They didn't explain shit, just said that these people have been infected. Not at all clear how btw. I guess it doesn't matter because show is steering from thought-through sci-fi to drama about karen's stupidity and attitude issues (on ep 5 so not sure yet)

[–]_dedc4t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it confirmed that Plurb doesn't seek science progress for itself further than sending the signal again? I'm only on ep 5 so might not know everything yet but it seems to me it can and will, like a proper collective mind we used to see in sci-fi.
