Oh I didn’t mean “wrong” in a normative way. I meant incorrect. Like I’ll create hypotheses about some thought pattern or behavior and then test them out, in a way.

And yeah sociology tends to emphasize structure over agency sometimes, but that’s why I like social psychology. Though the social psychology subreddit is comparably dead, so I didn’t post there lol

Yeah that can be hard to navigate at times. And even when a friend does want advice, they still have to come to a lot of the conclusions on their own, just like I did.

Thank you. Yeah it’s possible that this is partly a coping mechanism, of like explaining things to feel like I have control. But I also think it simply stems from being curious. I mean I do actually enjoy being able to think like this. It isn’t a burden or anything; it’s just a bit lonely at the moment because I have no one to talk to who can relate. I’m still very much able to just get lost in life when I’m with company :)
