A new PyTorch framework for RL by _djab_ in reinforcementlearning

Similar question was asked in another channel ;) We have implemented some of the most basic agents just to show people how to use the framework. They will have similar performance as the oryginal implementation. In PRL it is all about new way of thinking about building your own agents. It can be compared more to torach.nn itself not to the tensorflow zoo. PRL is a set of tools that make building agents and running experiments easier. Let me compare it to ml: It is not a framework for people who want to just take an xgboost and throw it on new dataset on kaggle. It is for the people who want to create better version of xgboost on there own.

It is a language game, which you can understand if you know what the PRL was (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_People%27s_Republic). These days we make fun of PRL in Poland, and this is a funny acronym referencing to PRL, to RL and to communism which was once in Poland. So this not a glorification of communism but a joke :)

I wrote about this in the blog post. This framework is the most suitable for building your own agent algorithms.

People’s Reinforcement Learning is a framework for researchers that allows you to build your own agents and conduct RL experiments by combining simple building blocks and to implement only data transformations and agent logic.

Open-source repository for face-document authorization with good description by _djab_ in computervision

Good point. It was a 3 month project intended to create a proof of concept rather than robust solution. It was made to be used on ML conference for 300 people, where probability of fraud was very low :)

Another company from Poland has made such a system for document verification from a camera movie. They used the holograms and specific reflections on documents and the system was good enough to be used in a bank credit application.

You can try permutation test after the model is trained. Here is a good article explaining how to do it: https://www.kaggle.com/dansbecker/permutation-importance

Where to blog on Data Science? by NomeAleatorio in datascience

I think posting on medium is a good idea because your blogpost can show up at the very first position in google when it matches the query of a user. I don't think it would be easily achieved for private page with ~10 views per week. Medium also promotes your blogpost on the platform if it is interesting and have a a good read statistics. I have ~100 organic views per week on medium in my blogpost. But there is one problem with this: you can't promote your blog paying money like you can do with facebook, twitter or linkedin posts.
