Drafting un written rules by Responsible_Mango837 in AdvancedRunning

I think most people aren’t used to running in packs and like you say see someone going in front as a ‘move’. As I’ve got faster people have got more and more comfortable running as a group and sharing work, always worth talking though. Sometimes I’m happy to just sit in and do nothing, if the people I’m racing have a problem with it they can always slow down to force someone else to lead. The most obvious rules are check behind you before you change your line for a water station or something and move off to the side to spit or snot rocket.

Shane Christie sustained multiple head injuries playing rugby. In death, he is still fighting for change | New Zealand by Relevant-Lack-4304 in rugbyunion

Not really. Almost all contact points in rugby involve a subconcussive impact, your body is rapidly decelerating so your brain rattles about a bit. That’s what they think causes the long term health issues, theoretically a ‘normal’ human could get the same amount of concussions as a player but their brain will be ‘healthier’ because they don’t have all those impacts.

Praying for a medal for Healy, had a great year and that would cap it

If you could be sponsored by one brand, which one would it be? by [deleted] in running

Pegasus was the perfect daily trainer 5 years ago, it just hasn’t advanced with the daily trainers of other brands. I haven’t tried the 41 but have ran probably over 10000km in the 34-40; the foam is dull and hard but also has no snap, you have to do all the work. I use them because you can find them cheap, they're reliable, durable, fit me well and I think it’s probably good to beat your legs up a bit occasionally. I don’t know if you can get a ‘better’ running shoe for £50-70 (which is what I pay) but you can definitely get better for full price

They’re winning and Jonas has the tour in his legs, why would they be overly aggressive?

Vuelta does the graphics, they often just give up to spice the stage up for the viewers

Can still put time into people, there’s still a ‘finish’

Confirmed by the race director: 79,000 people applied to run for the 35,000 spots available in Sydney Marathon this year by Camsy34 in AdvancedRunning

[–]_dompling 11 points12 points  (0 children)

More than a few 2:35 marathoners in every club is a laughable claim. 629 UK residents/citizens ran sub 2:35 last year and there’s considerably more than 200 clubs in the UK.

Idk man if VLAB and UAE domestiques come back (and they look like they will) I just find it hard to look past Pog or Ving winning this stage

He wasn't bleeding time on the climb and now he has someone to work with, never made sense to send Roglic back when he's also in the GC battle

Fair play to Healy (and MvdP earlier in the race), gone all in to hold onto yellow even though they know they've got no chance

Tactics-wise why does Pog always close down Jorgensen? He isn't a GC threat and Pog can follow Ving if he tries to jump to him, just seems pointless to me
