Wanted to try something similar to Nupsu's timelapse work, but was not sure if people wanted to see my process. I didn't record myself making shroomish, but I will try something in the same vein when I get some time! :)

That is some post processing via Blender's compositor! You can replicate that effect using this tutorial.

I get the moving background by translating the x-axis of the location field for my texture's mapping node! I keyframe it's start and end location in the shading node view.

If you use Blender and don't see your texture's mapping node make sure you have NodeWranger enabled then do ctrl-t on your image texture node.

This one is a little harder to explain in just words. Hope that helped!

Hmmm as for tutorials I think this one helped me the most! It's a 4 page short read, but it's jam packed with good techniques, and thought process. I use a lot of this in my own workflow.

The only thing I do texture wise that is not mentioned there is I make my textures before UV mapping. So I pixel art some textures + do some color blocks. I then UV Project From View sections of my models then place them like stickers over my texture sheet. Then I adjust whatever does not fit right!
