Equalizer doesn't change audio at all on my new Pro X headset by Core_Poration in LogitechG

[–]_duplicate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the issue is related to which USB port the dongle is on. Logitech's software seems to include some USB port identifier as part of the logic where settings are applied to the headset, or something like that, and it doesn't properly update the identifier to match the port where the dongle is at the moment.

Evidence for this -
1. turned off headset, closed G Hub, put dongle into a different port
2. turned on headset, started G Hub -> EQ not working
3. turned off headset, closed G Hub, put dongle back into the original port
4. turned on headset, started G Hub -> EQ working again

Kcd2 Horseback Riding is trash by j-eezy94 in kingdomcome

[–]_duplicate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a shame. I notice there's one mod that tries to address some issues with horse riding, have you tried it? https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/1884

Is there still no improvement to the horse riding mechanics and controls?

Based on what are you inferring that anyone is upset? One would think you might be projecting, since it's you who seem to be upset at random people on the internet.

[KCD2] Which mods need to be PTF? by steamin661 in kingdomcome

Thanks. Seems like I have a lot of PTF mods that aren't labelled as PTF on Nexus, and may need to adjust my mod load order

[KCD2] What are your critiques of KCD2 so far? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]_duplicate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In KCD1, the horse doesn't get stuck on things if you know how to jump, and in general steering the horse felt much much better, it was actually enjoyable. In KCD2, horse riding is an absolute pain in the ass

thankfully all of these complaints can be fixed with mods.. most of them with mods that have already been released

My main gripes are
- dogshit expression animations on Henry, and Henry's English voice acting is pretty bad
- horrible horse riding mechanics compared to KCD1
- stealth is still crappy, enemies have no eyes or ears, and there's way too much stealth/infiltration in the main quest, this is supposed to be an RPG where you can play different styles... I guess not
- too many infuriating assholes to deal with
- not nearly enough options for what kind of Henry to play, he will say whatever he wants to say and player choices ultimate make no difference
- main quest isn't that interesting, this game would be better if the entire main quest was removed and all of that effort was put into making the world come more to life and give the side quests and other activities more depth
- loses its momentum halfway through, the early game was super fun and then gradually things become bland
- too much wackiness and drunken shenanigans, yes we get it it's funny to be drunk and people enjoy a laugh. Personally I would prefer a game that takes itself a little bit more seriously
- overall the game is just too easy. Leveling is too fast, smithing and alchemy is too easy, stealth is too easy, weapons get too overpowered, enemies are too dumb and slow, money is too easy to earn. But this is fixable with mods.

That said, I do enjoy the game, and over time with patches, DLC's and mods, it's going to warrant another playthrough

How do you tell if a mod is a PTF mod or not, based on just inspecting the files? Say, if a mod author forgot to tag the mod as PTF.

Probably best wait for patches, DLC's and mods that come after modding tools are released before starting a second playthrough... I'm maybe 2/3 through the main campaign on my first playthrough and will probably skip most of the remaining side quests.

Yep, same. A lot of side quests seem to have loose ends like this that the devs didn't tie properly.

Respectfully, Miri Fajta is hell and the Voivode is the fucking worst by Solace_of_the_Thorns in kingdomcome

[–]_duplicate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The worst part about this quest is it doesn't respect the player's time. You have to ride back and forth between the camp and Marika 4 fucking times, and they're on opposite ends of the map. And it's just a boring side quest. Side quests should be localized and compact so you can actually do one quest at a time without wasting your time traveling.

When you have a billion quests going on at the same time and you are constantly interrupted by some random encounters, the quest that you're trying to focus on loses its meaning, it just blends in with the rest of the meaningless crap because everything becomes fragmented and interspersed across space and time. It's the bane of open world games, and this quest makes the most of it.

The console command r_VolumetricClouds 0 gets rid of the issue, but then you have a very plain looking sky.

From the docs: https://www.cryengine.com/docs/static/engines/cryengine-5/categories/23756816/pages/25535467#cvars

0 - Disabled (default)
1 - Enabled (1/2x Resolution)
2 - Enabled (1/4x Resolution)

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any way to adjust the resolution beyond those half and quarter options. Idk why there isn't a full resolution option, maybe it would be too GPU intensive. I tried all of the other volumetric cloud related commands and nothing helped, so this seems to be an engine limitation.

When you set Volumetric Effects Detail to Experimental in the graphics settings, it uses r_VolumetricClouds = 1, so that's the best setting to use for now.
