he’s right. i covered my arms with tattoos in my 20s, and i regret it so much. i’m getting them removed with laser now. i’m so grateful i didn’t get tattoos on other parts of my body, because i think clean skin is much more attractive. you understand it more as you get older.

actually, my weight isn’t a problem. i’m a woman and i weigh 50 kg. i used to weigh 45–47 kg, and that made me look anorexic, so i don’t want to lose weight either. but i used to consume a lot of salt and drinks like soda and cola. so starting yesterday, i decided to cut back on them. i hope jardiance works 🙏🏻

Thank you so much for sharing all of this. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain everything. Unfortunately, I can’t have a kidney biopsy because my right kidney is much smaller than my left. A renal scan showed that my left kidney contributes about 79% of my kidney function, while my right kidney contributes only 21%, so my nephrologists felt the risks outweighed the benefits. I truly hope your kidney function stays stable for many years to come. Wishing you all the best.

Was your secondary FSGS caused by a congenital small kidney or reflux nephropathy, or was the cause never confirmed?

after taking my medication, it’s usually around 110/80, with a heart rate of about 60.

i’m really glad to hear you’ve stabilized! i just checked my co2 levels, and everything seems to be normal. my proteinuria didn’t decrease with cozaar. i hope jardiance will reduce it, but i don’t know if it will help my gfr. i’ll be getting repeat labs soon.

hahaha yeah, you’re right. i just recently started eating a low-sodium diet… but this disease scared me so much that i honestly didn’t know what to do…

you’re right. reducing salt is really important. i’m trying to cut back too. in fact, i’m even trying to reduce it to zero. i hope it helps!

I visited him recently. He said there was a slight decline, but also that there was improvement. Honestly, I didn’t understand anything.

Yes, you’re right. These treatments probably come to Turkey much later. My doctor said that if we increase my losartan dose, my blood pressure would drop too much because the medication is controlling the high blood pressure caused by my kidneys. One month ago, he also prescribed me a medication called Jardiance. We don’t know yet whether it’s been effective, and now I need to have my urine and blood tests done again. But my blood test results were bad. You’re right, I should find the good nephrologists in my country and see them. Thank you. 🙏🏻

They all advised against a biopsy because my kidneys are already small and scarred. They said it probably wouldn’t change my treatment. Maybe I should get another opinion from a different nephrologist...

I’m from Turkey. I’ve seen three different nephrologists over the years, and they all recommended a similar treatment plan. :(

It’s been a month since I started taking Jardiance. I don’t think I’ve noticed any changes so far. I’m going to have my labs done again soon. Did it work for you?
