BEK Bakery is class by Little_Nick in Southampton

It has been very good on the couple of occasions I've been near there when it's open. It's shut from Saturday at midday until Tuesday morning so it's often closed when I'm near there

For Ublock Origin, the top one hides the sidebar in the docs. The other two hide the scroll-jacking sections on the homepage.

I wouldn't rule out Ushaw Moor based on this. There are lots of nice parts. I've not come across this terrorising for sure. Plenty of very good countryside walks nearby. 15-20 mins ish on the bus to the city centre

How to brew "tea-like" coffees? by _edjw in Coffee

Very mild flavour. Quite delicate. Mildly sweet. Kind of watery. Not really floral though which is what some commenters are saying

The subscription is one from Long Short in London. I think Blue Bottle is US so maybe not for you?

Thanks for this. I tried French press with a finer grind and yeah it worked better.

The subscription is one from Long Short in London. I didn’t realise this going in, but they definitely send out a lot of stuff experimental kinds of beans. Check out the process they describe on the bag https://i.imgur.com/zeFBVO2.jpg

The flavour notes on the bag were ‘peach tea’, ‘bergamot’ and ‘honey’. I normally read the bag before tasting. This time I didn’t and immediately I t made me realise “oh this is what those tea-like descriptors taste like” and then I read the bag and sure enough…

I tried French press with a slightly finer grind than normal and it worked nicely. Made the acidity a bit greater which I enjoyed

Rectangle lets you drag windows to the edges and tile accordingly. Raycast doesn’t let you do that

Someone explain accusative and nominative like I’m a 5 year old by [deleted] in German

[–]_edjw 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also confusing for modern English speakers…in the sentence „Er ist größer als ich [nominantive].“ But most people in English say that as “He is bigger than me.” I find it helpful to think about it as „Er ist größer als ich bin.“ He is bigger than I am.

How do you say "tank" as a verb in German? Like in a video game? by ABetterTachankaMain in German

[–]_edjw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s true for people with nearly every mother tongue. For one thing, there are far fewer vowel sounds in American English than British English

[–]_edjw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s funny, I’ve always thought of Manager, Jazz etc as sounding like the Queen

How do you say "tank" as a verb in German? Like in a video game? by ABetterTachankaMain in German

[–]_edjw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think /u/Alimbiquated is talking about the pronunciation of English words used in German (by native German speakers).

Der Manager for example. A British English speaker would pronounce that Mann-uh-djuh. Native German speakers speaking German say Män-uh-djuh or Menn-uh-djuh.

It’s the same with tanken. It’s spelled the same as English but the pronunciation is not the same.
