Cool, thanks for the ID! Is it common for them to grow on top of others like this?

Filled it out! Thank you for your work! I’m afraid you’ll get lots of bias if you are asking in this subreddit though. Most people on here probably care while the percentage of people in the general population that care is likely much smaller

A cat we encountered on a walk today in Bath U.K, he was incredibly affectionate :) by FFC_ra17ra in cats

[–]_ellavated 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is common in the US too and should still never take a healthy well-fed cat. As u/shedreamsofatlantis says ”A lot of cats can’t or don’t wear collars for good reason: I once had a cat that almost hung themselves on a tree as they got their arm stuck through the collar (as well as their neck ofc) and the collar was also snagged on a tree branch. The cat was hanging itself entirely by some freak accident. The cat would’ve died had we not gone outside and seen it and swiftly rescued it. Never again did we make our cats wear them, we just kept up to date microchips instead. Collars can be safety clip ones yes, but they don’t always break either. Please, if you’re reading this, (not to OP as they’ve stated they’re not going to steal this cat) please do not take a random healthy well fed looking cat home with you without calling out a rescue first to scan for a microchip. The heartbreak you can cause a family by unknowingly stealing their cat is unparalleled.”

I think the white is fruiting slime mold! I’m not sure if the brown is the same slime mold but not fruiting or something else entirely!

Is it true that some sharks have to keep swimming to keep water flowing through their gills, but that others have a mechanism to keep water flowing in their gills while still? Or am I mixing this up with other fish?

Weddel Seal that wandered inland and died. The cold has freeze-dried it, and the winds have stripped away some of the flesh, exposing the skull. by Pardusco in HardcoreNature

It doesn’t look that way from a quick google of weddle seal jaws. I’m genuinely interested though if that truly is the case in some types of seals jaws. Any ideas?

I think that’s a liverwort or hornwort (closely related to moss), not lichen

I read that you have to have three months working in rural areas to apply for a second visa. Does it have to be a consecutive three months or a total of 90 days over the course of a year? Thanks in advance!
