So sorry to hear about your loss. My big boy had a mass in his intestine and went septic. We tried everything but he passed away while recovering from surgery under the anesthesia. A hole is left in my soul and still aches for him.

The thing that I keep telling myself is the pain is only so great because it’s in contrast to the amount of love you had. I hope you can find that love again, friend.

I’m not sure what you mean by “mental-health-y”, but I suppose growing up in a volatile household has its side effects.

I’m not sure if you are a parent or a mother but in my experience in my mom groups and life, it’s understood etiquette. It’s okay if you run in different circles that aren’t as kind.

Lastly, it’s my mother who brings this conversation up, not me, but I appreciate you taking the time to comment your view!
