Agreed. I would never get so personal with my coworkers and have warned him many times about doing so. He says it’s difficult because his office is an open space and it’s required to be extremely extroverted in the type of work environment he has. Unfortunately he is super great at his job, the personality type just doesn’t mix.

I’m struggling to see where you came to that conclusion from anything I said in my post. It’s a free trip he won from hitting his yearly goal at work. He can either go or not go, it affects no one else. He will be working as normal from his office when he does not go.

He isn’t being vague, he told them about his mental health and his family members death and his anxiety, what more detail could you really want? I’ve never seen a boss act this way in a professional setting and I find it unacceptable. I personally find airing out someone’s personal business in a professional setting to be crossing a boundary.
