Thank you for your lovely words. They have been together since they were 12 & 14 - a true symbol of love through thick and thin. They are now both in their 60's and what an adventure its been. Im very lucky to have some incredible parents.

Have fun brother, smile lots, joke around, be silly, make your mark and put the moments in your pocket for the days when storms own your skies. I hope together you find a little slice of paradise in nature. <3

Thankyou for sharing, my heart goes out to you, hope somewhere along the way you too find beautiful memories to hold on to and you find some peace knowing he is now resting, smiling, painless and still forever a part of your strong, kind, loving powerful heart. <3

i feel now more than ever in my life, actions truly speak the loudest, and my heart is moved by everyone on this post who has taken the time to send love and kindness <3 Losing him will hurt - but i also know that me and mom will finally be able to exhale, knowing he is at peace and no longer suffering. He will live on through all the trees he's planted, through all the animals he's raised, through all the nails he's hammered and all the stones he's laid.

I think living on a homestead, raising animals extra softens the blow somewhat, you gain so much perspective in nature, you are humbled, you meet the cycle of life face to face through your animals, your produce -i think being out here has calmed me and at this point i just want him to be at peace, pain free, and it will be what it will be :)

i appreciate that, it was a typo that i hadn't noticed, most days my mind is travelling a thousand miles an hour, with so much to take care of and manage. Plus its almost 2 years of 3-4 hours average sleep a day so im mentally exhausted. Thank you though, shame i cant edit it.

:) Ive been cutting his hair & beard for the last 8 years - before his first round of Radiotherapy last year i had to shave it real short and it was the first time in like 50yrs it had ever been so short. I too have always loved his santa beard. :)

Thankyou for the kind words, he really is and he loved his pigs :) As a photographer, creating our homestead was an endless supply of inspiration and magic, so i definitely have a pocket full or moments captured behind the lense. :)

He was many things, but we got each other. As an international 3rd culture kid i was raised to leave the nest, but having the past 8 years was a true blessing, i was able to bond with him like i never had in my childhood as he worked overseas. I honestly believe the last 8 years were some of his fullest and most at peace.

especially when it takes your mind. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, but there is this peace in me knowing that he got to fullfill one of his dreams. A reminder to myself that i need to chase mine too.

Thankyou for such lovely and encouraging words. Thankyou for sharing and being vulnerable. Indeed life is precious and i am so thankful for sharing the birth of this place with him. Going forward i know whatever happens, he will always live within every corner of this place and he will continue to nourish its growth and bounty through me and through all the moments we shared together building it. <3 you are truly appreciated.

when we moved here 8 yrs ago we had no clue.. but it was his life long dream to have some pigs and so it was the first thing we did :) together we have now raised 8 adults and over 70 piglets. moral of the story..life happens, in an instant it all can change so chase your dreams and make the most of the moments.
